Hello! First time poster here! I've read the community rules, so hopefully I'm doing things right. =)

This pic was taken from Zerochan: http://www.zerochan.net/1460479

I have not seen this pic anywhere else, and I was wondering if someone can verify if this is official. Because it REALLY looks official.

Hello! I was just wondering, I happened to stumble across this picture today and I just want to know if there will be an episode in which will be based on the April Fools Day special. If someone posted this already (or if my tagging is incorrect), then please let me know!

And while I'm here, I also happen to stumble across this scan as well! Pictures taken from Italy Veneciano Vargas // North Italy (Axis Powers Hetalia) via Facebook~

There is another new update on Hetalia's website. This time, we get a special interview from the main cast of Hetalia: The Beautiful World.

If anyone is interested in translating the interviews, here is the link page to see it.

Hey everyone! In the February 2012 issue of Comic Spica (Issue #5), there was the first half of a 100-Question Interview with Himaruya.

Well, unfortunately there was no manga in this month's issue. There were a couple other things though...

Scans Behind Cut )

Also, again I'm trying to make up for some of the cost of purchasing Comic Birz. Though this one I managed to get for $25 as opposed to the last one being $50, that's still a good chunk of money. I'd like to continue purchasing the magazine, so I've put up a new sales post with a handful of Hetalia items, Hetalia doujinshi, and some miscellaneous games and manga for cheap. Proceeds from the sale will go into covering this month's Birz and future issues. Please stop by and take a look. Thank you. ;w;

I was just thinking it's getting close to being a month since the new Comic Birz came out, but we haven't seen any scans. Did anyone pick it up? I didn't worry about ordering it since it's kind of expensive for me and someone else said they could get it from Kinokuniya. Just wondering if anyone was able to get a copy?

Also, since I don't recall it being scanned, last month's issue came with a bonus holiday sticker, so... Merry Christmas!

Sorry mods if this isn't allowed, but its a follow-up to a previous bit of news that was posted here. It's been announced that the work that Himaruya is contributing to the launch of the new magazine Comic Spica is actually the continuation of his other published work, Chibisan Date. This means he will be simulaneously doing two serializations, the other being Hetalia in Comic Birz.

Axis Powers Hetalia will be published in Monthly Comics Birz starting in the November issue, as advertised in the October issue of the magazine (on sale starting 8/30th).

Holy Newsbomb Batman!

via animenewsnetwork:

The October issue of Gentosha's Monthly Comic Birz magazine is announcing on Tuesday that Hidekaz Himaruya will begin serializing his Hetalia manga in the magazine in the next issue in September. The October issue also has the latest information on the anime adaptation.

Until now, Himaruya released his manga online. He is also contributing to the first issue of the new magazine Comic Spica from Gentosha. (Gentosha already hosts the online magazine Web Spica.)

Tokyopop published the manga in North America until it shut down its North American publishing operations this past May. Funimation is releasing the first television anime seasons, the two seasons of the Hetalia: World Series television sequel, and the Hetalia Axis Powers: Paint it, White! film.

Points that I am compelled to draw attention to:

1) The article seems to indicate that the serialization will replace any form of webcomics being produced in the future (at least the way I read it. The way its phrased is a bit vague.) but I tend to believe that Himaruya will continue posting some things and comics there (I mean, how often has he posted comics online this past year anyway?)

2) The fact that Hetalia is being serialized in Comic Birz makes it all the more likely that Hetalia isn't the work being contributed to the new, upcoming magazine Comic Spica, as that it was moved to A) help launch the magazine, and B) Not overwhelm readers with the amount of Himaruya. Of course he's only confirmed for the first issue of Spica for now... (Yes, I'm still holding out hope that Chibisan Date will resume serialization... Shut up.)

3) That the rumors of the anime's death are widely exaggerated. My best guess is once the OVA in September is released, World Series will fandisk, and the series will be rebooted under a new name so they can do another merchandise cycle.

ANN has posted a recap of the panel with Hetalia anime director Bob Shirohata and voice actor Akira Susanuma (Austria).

EDIT: Addressing the confusion in the comments, "Henry" is probably a mistype of "Hungary"

This is a re-scan of the Volume 4 Special Edition booklet.

This booklet is only available to people who purchase the Special Edition Volume 4 and contains special drawings of the following characters: Italy, Germany, Japan, England, America, Canada, Russia, China,Liechtenstein, Austria, Uktraine, Poland, Sweden, Thailand, Vietnam, Spartacus, Friedrich II, and Maria Theresa. There are also paper dolls to dress up of England, France, & Prussia as well as an omake strip.

I'm uploading two versions. a larger 900px version so people who read Japanese will have an easier time doing so with these scans. And the smaller 700px width scans which are more for people who just want to see the pretty pictures and don't really care if they can see the kanji.

I am also uploading the paperdolls in their own .zip. This is a special scan where I scanned at 300 dpi, cleaned them up, and have them as .png files. Basically, you can print them out "as is" on any printer and they will print out exactly the right res as in the booklet.

Hello Everyone!
I have a favor to ask for – that’s to fill the questionnaire below.
I’m writing an article for Polish Hetalia FanSite (www.hetalia.org) about fandoms in foreign countries and how people in different countries see Hetalia. Obviously, my knowledge of these is quite limited and therefore I need help of Hetalia fans – you! The questionnaire will consist of around 10 questions and will ask about more general view on certain topics within your country rather than your own. It will take you only about 15 minutes to complete – only few sentences of an answer will be enough! - But it will be such a great help for me!

 So here goes the questionnaire:

 1) What country are you from?
 2) Was your country already made a character of Hetalia?
 3) If it was, how fans in your country reacted to that personification? Do you guys like it or is there something you would like to change in it?
 4) If not, is there an ‘official’ OC that was made in your fandom in place of your missing country? How does it looks like, how does it reflect upon your country's features?
 5) Can you define who is the most popular character of Hetalia in your country?
 6) What about the pairings? Is there any pairings that seems to be liked by the most of people in your country or is it very divided?
 7) What is the most common view on the character of Poland? Is the Feliks, how he was created by the author, easily accepted?
 8) How does the fandom in your country works? Do you have any particular site or a forum that most of fans seem to use? Can you tell how many Hetalia fans, approximately, there is in your country?
 9) Is Hetalia seen more of a humorous manga that shouldn’t be taken seriously? Is many people trying to apply actual historical meaning to it?
 10) Is there any popular memes (for example: Iceland's white boots, Hotland’s…pardon me, Netherlands’ tulips etc.), sayings, tags that you see as common only in your country?

 And that is it :D!
Thank you all for taking part in this questionnaire! It means a lot!
[ I've got cherishedsaulie's  approval for posting the questionnaire]

As we all know, Tokyopop is going to be shut down by May 31. I'm fairly certain that most of us were expecting that the 3rd volume of Hetalia (along with any other series with volume releases in the near future) were going to be canceled. This is just official confirmation from RightStuf: that volumes with release dates before May 4 seem to be okay, but volumes slated to be released after have been canceled. Being that Hetalia vol. 3 was scheduled for a May 31 release date, it has been canceled.

EDIT:
Just to let people know, the closing of TP's North American publishing branch appears to affect the United Kingdom as well, as the UK's books are all imports from NA. The German branch of Tokyopop will be unaffected.
[identity profile] fmavatard.livejournal.com
I thought this may be relevant, considering Tokyopop holds the rights to the Hetalia manga. I hate to bring this up after we just got a volume 4 announcement, but still.

www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2011-04-15/tokyopop-to-close-north-american-publishing-division

Personally, I'm not that worried. I'm almost positive that another company (hopefully Yen Press~) will pick it up.
