Third Birz Comic? + Last Month's Bonus

I was just thinking it's getting close to being a month since the new Comic Birz came out, but we haven't seen any scans. Did anyone pick it up? I didn't worry about ordering it since it's kind of expensive for me and someone else said they could get it from Kinokuniya. Just wondering if anyone was able to get a copy?

Also, since I don't recall it being scanned, last month's issue came with a bonus holiday sticker, so... Merry Christmas!

I said that sadly currently I'm not in the place where I can get a copy and I tried to contact the person who provided me the birz raw last month but to no avail :c
I still have 2more weeks before I can buy 'em in Kinokuniya...plus some money

Should I try to see if I can find a copy to purchase online? I'm just afraid it's going to be hard to find once it reaches the end of the month, because that's when the next issue will be coming out. @A@ Or does Kinokuniya hold onto back issues?

Sometime they do, like, when I'm looking for Birz for 1st Hetalia serialization, they ran out of it but still has the previous edition until the next month...Hopefully they still have it
/why it's hard to find BIRZ scanlation, I even went to baidu to look for it...argh

Btw, do you think donation-based Birz purchase as a good idea?

I thought about doing that as well, it's definitely a possibility.

I have a job, so I can usually afford purchasing the magazine online, but it's still expensive. Though the magazine is only about $8, the shipping is about $14 through the place I usually order from (and that's SAL).

But that shop is sold out, so I'm using a proxy to order it, but last time I used them, the shipping was a lot more. ;w; We'll see how that goes.

Obviously it's a lot better for anyone living near a Kinokuniya. I have a contact who lives near one, but she's so busy, she won't be able to get over there till sometime next month. That Kinokuniya doesn't even get Comic Birz, she'd have to special order it for me. Grah...

Yes, donations would be helpful if it could be organized. I believe, with something like paypal you can even set up a goal so people could follow how much has been donated and how much is still needed. But I'm not sure exactly how to set that up.

Honestly, an idea like that sounds great at first, but it comes with issues. :/
If people get together to pay for the purchase of the book, sure, it gets the book and scans faster. But. One person is left with this physical copy they didn't fully pay for, and this one person still retains the ability to sell it after it's been scanned. .__.

That is a concern, though I think the only sellable things are the bonuses. I don't think there's enough want for the full phonebook of manga itself just for a few Hetalia pages. But you're right there, it's an issue to consider.

Also what I prefer to do is cut out the Hetalia pages to scan them flat so it doesn't have the blurry binding, which makes the thing even more worthless. XD I don't have the room to keep the full magazine;;

I really don't mind buying it myself, I just wish I had ordered it earlier. @A@ I was relying on someone else to get it, but I should rely on myself. XD

Speaking of bonuses, I should scan the Hetalia sticker from last month's issue. It is effing adorable. *goes to find x-acto blade*

Well, I guess it depends on the resale value of the bonus items. I'd just think there's always the chance that the users who contributed their money might feel like they deserve a bit of any money regained. Since. You know. People in general. Greedy.

BUT if it's done clearly stating that donations don't mean entitlement to resale values-- after all, the buyer does deserve a small reward for being the buyer-- then that could always work...

I suppose so, as long as the buyer contributes monetarily too. I think it would bother me if they didn't contribute anything and then kept the book. XD

In the meantime, I'll buy my own copies, since I'm crazy anyway. XD

I'm the person who bought the first vol and I actually thought I'd keep buying it - to support Hima and so on.

But it really was a hassle, paying so much. Everytime I open up that magazine I have to search all over the place for the 5 pages in that 500 page thing. I hoped more people were willing to buy it so I wouldn't feel I had to.

Has anyone even seen what other stories are in that thing? They are ridiculously violent and bizzare. I don't pay attention to them but what if other people looked through it? They'd think I was some weirdo. It's actually suprising that Hetalia is even in that magazine considering the content of the other stories.

Anyway, I'll summarise my thoughts here: I'm kinda hesitant to buy more volumes myself even though I able to simply because I don't want to pay $20 for 5 pages of content. Especially because I don't want to support the other artists in Comic Birz 'cause their stories creep me out and I'll just end up throwing them away. If it was on a rotational basis between me and some other people I wouldn't mind, if for instance, I bought 1 volume every 5 months. Is anyone interested in that?

....but as jammerlea seems interested in buying volumes themself, maybe i'm not needed.

I said it before and I'll say it again: I'll gladly chip in to have somebody buying and scanning each issue. I'll have to check my expenses next year, but I think about $5 per issue should definitely be possible. I have no way to purchase the magazine myself, so I don't care if whoever would get to keep it sold it later on or didn't pay a cent for it. All I care about is the monthly Hetalia comic, and scans is really all I'll ever need.
