Greetings to fellow translators and scanlators!

The last Christmas event showed that it's useful to keep translations and scanlations a bit organized in the general chaos these events usually slide into after a while. We all know how frustrating it is to work on something only to see it posted by somebody else seconds before you click the post button -in order to prevent that, we had a simple comment system to claim posts and prevent double work.

As always, rules are simple and hopefully there to make our work easier. Simply post a comment to this thread whenever you claim an update and start working on it, so that the rest of us will know we don't have to translate it anymore.

If the post is too long or you feel like having a second opinion, just ask if a fellow translator is available. Same for scanlations, if you don't feel like doing them yourself, ask if somebody is available to help you.

Once you've finished your work, drop a link to the comment where you've posted it so that it's easier to find (the threads on the main comm tend to be pretty... crowded.) Given how most of the fandom is currently on tumblr anyway, I think it would be useful to also add a link to the tumblr post you make (if you do) or mention if you mind mind somebody else posting it.

The thread is also handy for any discussions regarding translation (or complains about things like Hima's handwriting. Yes those will come.).

Also feel free to comment before the event starts, it would be nice to have a headcount of active translators and maybe check which timezone we are all in.

Hope this works to our advantage, we have the reputation of super quick reactions to Hima's posts and I'm sure it won't be any different this year. Wishing lots of fun with the long-expected event!

There's a building that still standing to this day where the spirits of the dead killed in the experiments of a certain medieval mad scientist are said to wander the halls even now, making the place a famous haunted mansion.

You hear plenty of ghost stories about the place that simply stop there, but the truly troubling part is that apparently the ghost of the mad scientist himself has been known to make appearances as well.

It's not unthinkable that this part of the story could be more frightening to the other ghosts than to the living people who see them if you consider the fact that these past victims have been stuck with this mad man ever since they died under the same roof as him.

>It seems that the first SIREN game that you said you liked is coming up on its ten-year anniversary. Please tell me your favorite character!
The teacher who hits at you with the nail hammer is so cool! I also like Abe-chan. Ten years, huh? How nice!

>What's the name of the rabbit that's now being used as Bamboo Thicket's icon?
It seems that he was originally called Fion-kun. The one at my place still doesn't have a name, so if you come up with a good one...

>I like Canada, so I've always kind of wondered about this: Are the goggles Canada wears perscription eyewear? I can't help thinking about it every time I look at him...

They're probably just regular goggles. Canada's kind and cute even to ghosts, what a nice country.

I found a lot of old strips--the pages they were on are long gone, but the files stayed on Himaruya's site, and I decided to take a shot at translating and scanlating them! I'm also in the process of translating the Volume 4 profiles, so please look forward to that sometime before the month ends!

Furthermore, I did several rescanlations and other translations over time that you can find here and there on Hetarchive Scanlations!

Translations part of other strips and things:
Text in Germany VS Italy and two images
Switzerland Path of Cleaning Mr. Prussia(Actually done by my friend, desuraven on Twitter)
Text from Liechtenstein's Diary Of Stupid Big Brother/Journal Of Swiss Dopiness(some done by me and some by desuraven)

Rescanlations:
Austria's little picture in April Fool's 2007
HRE Is No More unifinished strip thing
Chibis at the end of In Just Two minutes You Can Grasp The Exterior Of The European Economy
Various pictures from Comic Diary 7(but not the comics)(not updated yet)

New Old comic tran/scanlations:
Italy trying to imitate Romano 2-panel comic
France, Japan, and Greece are old men

I think that's it for now! I also did some translating/retranslating of a few of [livejournal.com profile] bamboothicket2 or, rather, bits and pieces here and there, so you can see some stuff there, too.

Come and see! )

Thank you for viewing! I've also posted the translations to my tumblr(Italy one; France, Greece, and Japan one,) so if you're into that it's there too!
