Hey all! China from the photoshoot and picnic here with some pictures from Saturday's events! I took a lot more pictures than I actually posted, but Photobucket keeps failing on me and it takes a while to upload photos on here, I took a lot of duplicates, and I tried to post the pics with the best quality of all the shots (I have a terrible camera, so it was a miracle). Also, I don't have the "All Nations" pic because I never got the chance to actually give my camera to someone. But I got everything else. Enjoy!

I don't really know if this has already been discussed or whatever, but I'd like to know something.

How long have you been into/involve/liked Hetalia? What has your experiece of the series been like since then?

Truthfully, I've known about Hetalia ever since spring of 2008. (lol yes, I'm not joking) I found it through an artist's blog I frequented and kinda just waltz into Himaruya's site out of curiosity (plus I was bored XD;; ). It wasn't until that summer when I really started developing interest into it, where I had more time to analyze what the series was about and before I knew it...I was completely smitten.
I even remember when this comm. just started and the only post up was the original profiles for the characters.  (man I feel so old for some reason lol) My experience thus far has quite interesting. The fandom may have its ups and downs and sometimes conflicts raise thier ugly heads, but even so, has never not been interesting in some other shape or form.

I'd like to know everyone's experiences, so feel free to say what you want to say. :3

So, uhm, wig problems! I figure if anyone knows how to style a wig, it's you guys. See, I need to straighten a wig, but not like THE WHOLE WIG.

My boyfriend recently got the wig he's using for his Prussia cosplay for Anime Expo cut, but we are encountering 2 problems.

1. If he cuts it any shorter, the mesh shows.

2. Parts of the wig stick out funny.

All right, so a long time ago in a galaxy far far away, I had the idea to do a Hetalia "Everyone's a Little Bit Racist" from Avenue Q as a masquerade skit. But I was preparing for my wedding at the time, and I had only seen a bit of the series. Then Katsucon rolled by this year, and I was SO impressed by all the historical costumes, and by mithrigil's 1776 Hetalia skit that I went home and marathoned the whole thing with my husband. We decided to give the skit a go at Anime Next. We've been doing skits together for 6 years now, and I can honestly say, this was THE MOST FUN we have EVER had doing one~! Our cast was great, we had fun and learned a lot while making our costumes, and the recording/rehearsal sessions were an absolute BLAST.

The audience seemed to really dig it (as did the judges, we won Best in Show which was COMPLETELY unexpected.) I hope you guys do too!

I also just wanted to add that I am aware of the fact that at Colossalcon this year there was another Hetalia skit who used this same song and also won Best in Show (congratz again to you guys!) We are in different parts of the country and had no knowledge of each other, so please no dramu about that! It is a rather obvious idea if you know Hetalia and Avenue Q, and our skits turned out quite differently in the end.

Really hope you guys enjoy it even half as much as we enjoyed performing it!

SoyCon's in July, and there's also a tentative Hetalia shoot going on in Chicago at the end of the month I'd like to go to, but I don't have an official costume. So I thought I'd do a casual cosplay of Hungary, who'd be easiest to me with my long hair and I also really like her character. She's got spunk.

But I don't know what she'd wear casually. Anyone have any suggestions?

But this could be important.

In this summer, the Hetalia Movie will be on big screen in Taipei and the pre-orders are available in the USxUK doujin event(Chinese site) on the 4th of July. And the pre-order goodies are one Iceland figure and one Guide book. (in Japanese)

And the premiere will be on 6. AUG in a thertre at Taipei.

So for these who are in Taiwan or happen to be there, congratulations!
