so a few days ago, there was a post showing us of a magazine with pictures of england and an interview with his voice actor. sadly, they were just pictures and not good enough quality. but today, my friend went out and surprised me with the magazine she had bought at our local bookstore to celebrate the passing of the typhoon out here in japan. so i scanned them and the fold out picture of the italian brothers for everyone to see!

World Hetalia Day: New Mexico, USA!

So a few friends and I in Albuquerque are planning on celebrating, but we figured heyyyy why not extend the invitation to other New Mexican Hetalia fans out there? Just in case they actually exist! :D



Tentative plans:

♥ picnic potluck - Of course, it would be great if everyone brought an international dish! We're thinking we could have it at Bataan Memorial park? Other parks are possible, like Roosevelt maybe. ALTERNATIVELY (say, in the case of inclement weather) we could head out to eat somewhere. There are some pretty good places around town that offer international cuisine. Or we could just go to IHOP. Or McDonald's!
♥ international music trade - We also think it would be cool to make a mix CD with your favorite songs in different languages, and then bring a few copies to trade~
♥ Hetalia/history/international trivia game with prizes - Not sure what the prizes will be just yet, but I'm sure they'll be awesome!
♥ cosplay photoshoot, if anyone is so inclined - Cosplay would be great! If not, we could just hang out and take pictures? We were thinking the National Hispanic Cultural Center would be perfect, because...it has lots of flags. XD And it's pretty huge. And we can check out the events they have going on that day, if we want.
♥ Hetalia marathon - If the group is small enough.
♥ other stuff...? - There's also the National Musuem of Nuclear Science & History, the Musuem of National History, uh...and probably other stuff I'm forgetting. But, we're open to suggestions on everything!

I will also be making us some cool badges. *thumbs up*

So message me here at LJ if you're interested in meeting up! :3 We can hash out the details, finalize the plans, etc.

While typing this up, I realized that if New Mexico-tan existed, he/she would constantly be trying to convince everyone he/she IS, IN FACT, a part of the US (honest). Because that happens to us a lot over here. Just saying.

so... I am sorry if I am posting in the wrong section but I didn't know where else to ask.
I've read a lot of the comments and some fanarts in which somethings turns out to be.. um... let me put an example.
somebody posts a picture of Russia drinking vodka... and somebody replies with.... "Vodka drinks you in the Soviet Union"
another example is like.... "You don't play Tetris, Tetris Plays you in Russia"
so my question is from where did it came from to make these?
I suck at History so bad I fail T-T
is there a reason to make it like that?

World Hetalia Day Meetup - Nashville, TN Plans

Okay, so originally 9cappuccino9 was supposed to organize and head the Hetalia meet in TN but many were having a hard time contacting her and when I was able to get in touch with her she really wasn't all that sure how to organize this event, so I got with another TN Hetalian and worked out a few plans. So far, this is what we got:

Date: Oct. 24th, 2009

When: 1-4/5ish? (I'll leave this open for debate for now)

Where: Nashville Centennial Park (I thought this would be the best place, and since it's so huge we'd have to all meet up at a specific place such as the Parthenon, since it's pretty much right smack dab in the middle of the park and is really hard to miss)( More details under the cut! )
