Hetalia Season 5 Design Fake?
On Tumblr, someone had posted an image that said the new designs of the Hetalia characters are fake.
According to the post, they said the new designs were just fanart in celebration for Animate Girls Festival 2012 to sell their merchandise. It is confirmed that Studio DEEN have a new staff of design and drawing, but it is not the ones we have seen on the Hetalia's home website. The one shown there is probably only advertising the event.
Here is the image of the post:

Links provided here are as follows
EDIT: Suitcase mentioned up above I posted here.
I rather not post the name of the original poster on Tumblr, but I want to be sure if this was true or false.

A different user on tumblr replied like that. Wondering why would Hetalia's home website use the new character looks for the event if people like Himaruya or anyone hosting did not notify that it was fan art.
All OP replied was that these were the links shown to prove that it was only for the Animate Girls Festival Event.
I still have doubts though. In the magazine shown with the Allies' new looks as shown in the screenshot of the image here, it even gives the title of the new season, Hetalia: The Beautiful World.
The only thing holding me back is posting OP's tumblr name on here. Because I rather not point fingers or attack someone. Lord knows tumblr is nice for fans to post things, but it gets out of hand when people do not source materials belong to Himaruya or a fanart from Pixiv/DeviantART.

Also the Allies picture was published in Birz as an advertisement.
It says right at the top of the page "連合のTHE BEAUTIFULキービジュアル"
That is "The Beautiful World's Allies Key Visual". "The Beautiful World" is the title of the next season--and if it were just about the seiyuu they wouldn't have said "visual"? (They also say "key visual" on the page with the Axis from in Birz.)

They could have done with the old layout or wait until a different post of the new look, but Hetalia's home site used these new looks with the date that Season 5 will air. Thus these new character designs for the suitcase are not just "fanart", but now and new official look of Hetalia merchandise.
I am not even sure how I can respond to the tumblr OP of his/her mistake without causing a commotion or problem.

The images on the suitcase are Himaruya's art, not anime art. They aren't new. In fact, those're the chibis from on Volume 5's cover. They probably won't be on any more merchandise than usual.
Maybe just don't? Really they'd be proven wrong in two months anyway.

It showed up my dashboard recently today and people are saying they do not believe this. Some wishing that this isn't true. This post is getting more notes now for this false post OP made.
no subject
It's good most people don't believe it--I mean, it's pretty ridiculous? Either way, they'll be disproven in due time, if not by someone with stronger Japanese skills than mine, than by the actual release of the new season. (Hell, there'll probably more art releases or previews before then. . . .)
Really, besides lowering people's hopes/disappointing them, it's not doing a lot of harm. Besides spreading a pretty bad rumor.
I mean, I remember going and looking around 2channel threads one day and they were talking about the art if I recall right(even linked to it) so that's even more against them.

Considering it was on tumblr, it would cause sparks. I want to respond to OP and try not to cause any problems with him/her if they disagree with what I say. Just holding back the name is enough because I don't want people on both tumblr and Livejournal to attack OP if they are wrong.
Last thing I need is fingers being pointed.

I almost think people tumblr would believe anything without a proper source backed up to prove OP's post. Just remembering a fanart comic in English on Pixiv got mistaken as an "official" USUK scanlation, but not a lot of people realized that.
Who am I to judge them though if I sound like a hypocrite because I'm a member of tumblr?
For now, OP doesn't realize that the new character designs are real and most likely new looks for the Hetalia merchandise.

Second, the image that this girl/guy put on tumblr is almost illegible, maybe it doesn't matter at all, but I can't see it seriousthere used fanarts, but it was posted some months before the 5th season was announced. Is not the new one.
third, the staff is listed in the site, and if you see the desings of them, they really have resemblance with the new Hetalia style.
Sadly I noticed that some hetaliards on tumblr seems that like to bash Hetalia...
I remember when some months ago one of them submitted something from a 2ch japanese forum about Himaruya being a woman (so what's the problem?) that posted real and confidential information of him!! (and after that, he disappeared again from the net... I hope it was only for all the works he has to do)... Even though that real info wasn't posted on Tumblr.i still don't understand why some followers attack Hetalia and Himaruya... If they are fans, supposedly they should support it... isn't it???
Sorry for my English.

OP either has to be trolling really hard just to get a rise out of something. Or really not posting up sources correctly.
I wouldn't say they always bash it, but here is also why I think Hetalia fans would dislike certain things of their favorite series.
One would be Studio DEEN's old artwork. The anatomy people commented on their work from things like wallscrolls, posters, or even Hetalia episodes were all negative. They should just be happy a company had a chance to animate their favorite webcomic/manga series.
Two would be how HImaruya portrays them. I can understand about certain countries like the whole "South Korea" incident long ago or how people from Finland reacted to Finland's character, but fans should remember that the series is all satire and comedy. It's not accurate, but I guess people want to be more correct about what they learn from Hetalia. Even though it shouldn't be taken too seriously because it's just a Japanese cartoon/anime.
And third is probably that they favor more of fanworks than Himaruya's original works. Lord knows when Another Color Hetalia or 2P Hetalia came out, fans decided to make different versions for the male Allies since Himaruya did not release official ones for the male Allies. 2P England is probably a prime example of what fans consider the best fanmade 2P Hetalia character ever. They also added interpreted personalities since the creator did not mention what would Another Color of a character would be like. But it was mentioned from Himaruya who said 2P Hetalia/Another Color is drawn as if Hetalia characters ran an evil organization.

I don't see why we should be happy to get inferior products, though. I'm not an artist myself, but my friends who are artists say that badly drawn anatomy is really hard for them to look at -- it jumps out at you, like reading a fanfic where someone constantly spells the characters' names wrong. It's not too much to ask that a professional animation studio use decent quality control on its official products, rather than rushing them out in a haste to cash in on the fandom. It's why I generally don't buy Hetalia goods with anime artwork; I can't justify spending money on something that's poorly done just because it's related to Hetalia in some way.
I felt the same way about the subtitles that Funimation posted on its official web releases: character names were spelled wrong, translations were clunky, the subtitle timing was off in certain places. It was sloppy work, and should have been caught by quality control. Funimation has had a terrible reputation among long-time anime fans for its often slipshod subtitling and dubbing work, but since it's one of the few remaining licensing companies there's not much that can be done about it.
*steps off soapbox*

Lord knows people only love Funimation Dub's is because of the Bloopers. Being a fan of English Dub, I respect it and love it for the comedy satire that Hetalia is supposed to represent. It's hard to really think about what other company would get other anime series, but you just got to admit you have to be thankful for them to really be brought in America.
No one has to watch the English Dubbing since they do provide the original Japanese dialog with English Subtitles on their DVDs, but people tend to forget that and bash the Dub as if 4kids was still around to take anime series, even though we have gotten through that kind of bull.

", but I can't see it seriousthere used fanarts, but it was posted some months before the 5th season was announced. Is not the new one.".
It should say ", but I can't see it seriously, there was an event like this where were used fanarts, but it was posted some months before the 5th season was announced. Is not the new one.".

Or release date was just "November" in general. I think the 30th was just the time my service guessed they'd have it by.
Still.
xD But yeah. Shipping was killer. $80 on top of the $70 it already cost...
Really hoping it does turn out to be worth it.

yet that "anime girl fest. fanart"
fanart by whom..?
and if it's a fanart, why it's in all over the official sites and birz magazines
I'm afraid this person got it wrongly
the picture of Italy design in season 5 was posted whileee ago before AGF12
I honestly want to know what-how this person thinks
this is one of the best conspiracy theory of hetalia I've ever heard
no subject
And I am seeing recent notes it has gotten too even after first posting on Oct 30th, like now it has gotten a lot of reblogs and reaction responses of it.
Not one person of OP's post replied it was fake or how incorrect it is. The only thing OP did reply of when someone mentioned the new character looks are in Hetalia's home website, they just said check the links and it shows that official design is fake. It's not even close to backup the image post.
I do not want to post tumblr OP's name here, but maybe a PM would be better just to keep things private. Like I said, I don't want people to go attack the person or say anything bad about him/her of how incorrect it is if I linked their tumblr account and original post.

this is funny actually since when I look around tumblr, I saw A LOT of mistakes like saying someone's fan coloured hetalia 5th volume introduction page as Hima's colouring, saying that page as season 5 official art... I kinda got a headache looking at all of them
...this links saying the designs are fake, I'm curious about this...which links I'D
hetalia.com's news page doesn't have season 5 thing since it seems they'll make another section to seperate 1-4 with 5~

we're 101% sure it's real
I got more information in my hands for hetalia 5th season from the newest birz
I just need someone to translate it I guess

But I also think it is pure fan bashing because people always want to find something bad. The pic was posted in the official page before the scan appeared (or that I seem to remember).
So... it's pure question of logic: Why an official website would be using fanart to promote a new season that it's going to be released in less of two months? I THINK I have seen enough preview art from ANYWHERE in existence (sites, scans) that I know it is official preview art from an anime series that is in the works or it's going to start airing soon. Also, Japanese magazines CREDITS the ones that realized the illustrations in the first place. Gentosha or even Hima would be the ones who would be stating in the first place if it was fanart, isn't it?
In fact, I don't know how it is usual when one of the biggest stores of anime merchandising in Japan uses fanart for promotion of an event for fans, when the last Hetalia related fan event (the Hetalia-related Animate Café) used official anime art. Especially when one of the merchandising HAS official (but previously released) art from Himaruya himself.
And I DO NOT THINK that Gentosha, Studio Deen or any animation studios or manga publishers like to trick/troll their own fans like this as a 'conspiracy' against them. Yes, we know that the anime staff was changed, if this wasn't proof enough for that little detail of the art of a taste of what are we going to see in January. but going so far with no strong evidence of this 'fake' claiming?

This isn't any official Doujinshi event. This isn't the Comiket. I don't know why people assume like 'OH NOES, THE ANIMATION STUDIOS IS AGAINST US' or something like that.
Also, think about it: why SO SUDDENLY, is seems like the merchandising with the old Deen art is like 'throwing themselves from the window' with the release of the new season?
