[Discuss] Characters that need more love

Ah, yes, it's inevitable that some characters will get more attention than others, but what about the really small ones?

Tibet: Hasn't appeared since 'Doodles About Asia' and the story of teensy Japan. He got cut in the anime
Vietnam: AFAIK, we only have her original sketch. At first, I thought Himaruya scrapped that idea, but since we got another sketch of her back in Christmas, that makes it two.
Australia: Same with Vietnam, only replace Christmas with Tuna overfishing
Thailand: We got the first sketches of him, he's in the Doodles About Asia, and that's it. 
Bulgaria: He also only have his first sketch and his really minor manga portion. But hey, at least he got animated!
Egypt: He hasn't got new strip since God knows when....
Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus: Who? He only appears in the trading card...
Belgium: See Bulgaria
The African nations other than Seychelles: They only get really minor parts in Gakuen Hetalia. It'd be nice if we can see more of them.

I know Himaruya has to maintain the number of characters too, but it won't be so bad since he likes to do cast herding...

I would love to see a bit more about Belgium (I rp her a bit so..) and definitely needs for Asian and African nations on the screen...like South Africa...Kenya...Liberia...maybe? Or even the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka...?

A part of me wishes that Australia should debut in a strip where he showcases his local menagerie - something akin to Estonia's tourism strip.

As a rabid Bulgaria fangirl, I would love to see some more of him. I would also LOVE to see more African nations, as well as the South American nations.

And I'm still here, waiting for the rest of the UK to make an appearance. Scotland, Wales and the Irelands plz.

Cameroon, Netherlands and Monaco are the most recent addition but they haven't appear all that much either... At least they have official design...?

If anything, Himaruya should create India and Bangladesh. It seems almost strange that he's made someone as small as Sealand (who isn't technically a country) but not two of the worlds most crowded nations.

There is an India. He shows up in the 2011 Hetaween with Prussia. And yes, there's also a Romania, he's one of the Magic guys.

Besides from what everyone mentioned, how about Moldova (he only showed just a rough chibi sketch), the German states (like Bavaria), Hong Kong, Mongolia, and Taiwan (seriously), AND the ancient empires/civilizations (Mama Greek and Egypt, etc.)

I would like to see Cyprus as well. I mean, he's the brother of TRNC.

Well, Hong Kong and Taiwan appear on Drama CDs, they even have their own voice actor/actress, so they're still more fortunate than most minor characters. Not to mention Taiwan gets about two chibi, a dialogue in a manga strip, and a Christmas sketch. Hong Kong gets a fullcolor, wallpaper quality picture of him alone.
And although we can probably conclude from how he looks that it's Mongolia, Himaruya never outright states that it is Mongolia.

I agree with all of these. Also, we need more Ukraine and Belarus. I'd especially like to see them interacting with characters other than Russia to get a better feel for their personalities.

And, though she's brand new, I'm already anxious to see Monaco in a strip. Same with Cameroon and the Netherlands (though I just want to believe the Netherlands is actually Gilgamesh from Fate/Stay Night...)

Czech Republic&Slovakia/Czechoslovakia - Himaruya prepared designs for them but never decided how they could look. It's sad becouse they are like a black hole in the middle of Hetalia's Europe and both have many centuries of interesting history.

I wouldn't mind seeing some more Baltics and the Slav Sisters (Belarus and Ukraine). I find they don't get enough interaction with the other characters besides Russia. I wouldn't mind seeing some more Belgium, Netherlands and Australia. And Romania! We don't even have a design for the poor guy!

If TRNC is Canada, Cyprus must be like...Bulgaria or someone. So many people get the two mixed up or use their names interchangeably too (even the tag here is just "cyprus" for TRNC), but TRNC's the only one of the brothers with a design so far. Cyprus has no face D:

But if we go by the independent drama CD and their voices, Cyprus seems to be much older than TRNC, who seems to be quite young (as the Turkish Cypriot State was a rather later piece of Cyprus history, I'd guess for their appearances).

Although it might not be great, Seychelles starred in her own game, even exceeding Japan, the most popular character in Japan, and North Italy as the...you know, main character. Then, she also gets a lot of chibi, that sketch with Mochimerika, a part in the Drama CD, and her own dialogues in the manga.
Of course I wouldn't object to more Seychelles x3

Tbh, I don't care what Himaruya posts. Sure, I agree, all those characters definitely deserve a lot more love.
The one thing that really pisses me off is how the fandom is so one sided. I know it's people's opinions, but I'm so sick of all the USxUK, Germancest, and Itacest.
I know people are only going to write about/draw their favourite characters/pairings but jfc, can we get some more minor pair loving?

My comment is really off topic, but I know other people with love for the minor pairings feel the same. I wish there wasn't so much crossposting on here, especially with the larger pairings, that have their own huge comms.

Making my comment back on topic, I actually would love some African countries, and jfc they better be accurately coloured.

I think that before Himaruya creates more character designs for the countries who don't yet have one, he should at least give the ones who already have one a personality or some screen time in the manga/strips. That way there's more of a chance that we won't pull a Kumajiro and say "Who?" whenever someone like Cyprus pops up. :/

I'm all up for how fandom is taking shots at how characters like Australia and Vietnam act, but I'd love to see some official stuff for them, y'know?
