Pokin' head in, but it could be a Barbary corsair and referencing the Turkish Abductions. Knowing Himaruya, it probably shouldn't be assumed that it's a nation and might just be a regular guy, although two places involved were Salé and Algiers. So, in the off-chance that that were a nation, you'd be looking at Morocco or Algeria.

I don't think the Ancients hypothesis is too unlikely, actually! When I look closer, the women's outfits look a bit Greek respective Egyptian, and the Egyptian one has what may be a cat, which of course was sacred to them.

I would love if we were. I've requested many times for Mama Greece, Mama Egypt, Cartagho, Britannia, Gaul and Byzanthium but I was fearing he wasn't interested in showing us how they looked. I would be so happy if I were wrong!

I've requested many times for chibi ancients of Mama Greece, Mama Egypt, Cartagho, Britannia, Gaul and Byzanthium so... can it be the two at the bottom are Carthago and Byzanthium? Though if that is Byzanthium it means Himaruya-san scrapped his plan of making Byzanthium be Mama Greece... (which is probably for the better as many didn't agree with this interpretation...)

Possible designs for ancient nations? (｡♥‿♥｡) YESSSSS!

It's hard to tell if it's them from quick sketches, but I'd love to see Mama Greece and Mama Egypt in the series. Makes me wonder who they all are. This entry (http://bamboothicket2.livejournal.com/24906.html) mentions Magyar as Hungary's dad... could that be one of the other characters in the image?

It's really hard to say, but the bottom left guy looks like he has Byzantine armor. I know Himaruya once identified Greece's mother as Byzantine in the oldest drama CD (pre-commercial releases), but he's known to change his mind on details if they aren't yet set, or even after they're set in his stories.

I also remember one fan pointing out that those profiles (Magyar's entry) seem to treat "Byzantium" as a separate identity from Mama Greece. Although, Byzantium would probably be like her son in that case, wouldn't he? The armor could indicate someone else though. I don't have much clue on the right guy.
Alternatively, the bottom two could be genderbends of the top characters, but then that makes me wonder what Rome and Germania would look like flipped!

I really hope the guy poking Iceland with the stick turns out to be Algeria or Morocco in reference to the Barbary Corsairs. They're such an interesting part of history. And ugh gosh just everything, Iceland's cute face, possible ancients, Romania and most-likely-Moldova. I rly want to see the doodles of the ancients completed and colored! (｡‿｡)

I would say it's more likely the two at the bottom are Byzantine Empire and Carthago... Western Roman Empire was likely still represented by Rome...

Volume 6 HAS to give an explanation of who they are.
