A questionnaire - Fandoms in different countries

Hello Everyone!
I have a favor to ask for – that’s to fill the questionnaire below.
I’m writing an article for Polish Hetalia FanSite (www.hetalia.org) about fandoms in foreign countries and how people in different countries see Hetalia. Obviously, my knowledge of these is quite limited and therefore I need help of Hetalia fans – you! The questionnaire will consist of around 10 questions and will ask about more general view on certain topics within your country rather than your own. It will take you only about 15 minutes to complete – only few sentences of an answer will be enough! - But it will be such a great help for me!

 So here goes the questionnaire:

 1) What country are you from?
 2) Was your country already made a character of Hetalia?
 3) If it was, how fans in your country reacted to that personification? Do you guys like it or is there something you would like to change in it?
 4) If not, is there an ‘official’ OC that was made in your fandom in place of your missing country? How does it looks like, how does it reflect upon your country's features?
 5) Can you define who is the most popular character of Hetalia in your country?
 6) What about the pairings? Is there any pairings that seems to be liked by the most of people in your country or is it very divided?
 7) What is the most common view on the character of Poland? Is the Feliks, how he was created by the author, easily accepted?
 8) How does the fandom in your country works? Do you have any particular site or a forum that most of fans seem to use? Can you tell how many Hetalia fans, approximately, there is in your country?
 9) Is Hetalia seen more of a humorous manga that shouldn’t be taken seriously? Is many people trying to apply actual historical meaning to it?
 10) Is there any popular memes (for example: Iceland's white boots, Hotland’s…pardon me, Netherlands’ tulips etc.), sayings, tags that you see as common only in your country?

 And that is it :D!
Thank you all for taking part in this questionnaire! It means a lot!
[ I've got cherishedsaulie's  approval for posting the questionnaire]

1) What country are you from?

SPAIN ^^

2) Was your country already made a character of Hetalia?

Yep ^^

3) If it was, how fans in your country reacted to that personification? Do you guys like it or is there something you would like to change in it?

He seems very well-liked, though not the favourite.

4) If not, is there an ‘official’ OC that was made in your fandom in place of your missing country? How does it looks like, how does it reflect upon your country's features?

I have seen Regional OCs, that is, Castille, Aragon, Canary Islands, etc. They are obviously a much closer and better representation of Spain the country, but Himaruya's Spain is good too ^^

5) Can you define who is the most popular character of Hetalia in your country?

I think it has to be either England or Spain himself. Maybe Romano too! He seems very well-liked, from what I've seen.

6) What about the pairings? Is there any pairings that seems to be liked by the most of people in your country or is it very divided?

USUK and Spamano. No question about that. GerIta seems loved too. We are very unoriginal XD

7) What is the most common view on the character of Poland? Is the Feliks, how he was created by the author, easily accepted?

I have no idea about Spanish fans' opinions, but I can give you my own: I like Feliks, he's very funny and entertaining, and the best character for crack!fic, but I often find him to be too one-dimensional, too cartoonish, in fanworks. The only fic I read about him/another character was a PolCan, but I have trouble shipping him with anyone. I also think Poland should show signs of a strong will and the ability to recover from almost anything. And I think it'd be funny to contrast his crossdressing with a strong catholic moral like Poland the country has (or at least, is perceived to have from here)

8) How does the fandom in your country works? Do you have any particular site or a forum that most of fans seem to use? Can you tell how many Hetalia fans, approximately, there is in your country?

Hetalia isn't big at all here. In general manga/anime forums, most people don't know anything about the series at all. And that is my only source, lol. There seem to be a lot of South American fans, but Spanish? Nope.

9) Is Hetalia seen more of a humorous manga that shouldn’t be taken seriously? Is many people trying to apply actual historical meaning to it?

From what I gathered in forums and such, and my experience in other fandoms, Spanish fans tend to focus on the cute and superficial, and rarely take a series to talk and analyze in detail. This is no exception. The common reaction seems to be "it's a cute manga. X is my favourite character! ^^", but never in-depth questions about plot, drawing style, or even wondering a character's motives, likes and dislikes.

10) Is there any popular memes (for example: Iceland's white boots, Hotland’s…pardon me, Netherlands’ tulips etc.), sayings, tags that you see as common only in your country?

Romano's ahoge, Bad Friends Trio and England's magician self. On the other hand, most of the Spanish fandom seems to be baffled by the tomato-obsession and rarely if ever portray it (as it is incorrect).

WOOT LATE TO THIS!!! OTL

1) What country are you from?
Canada! Specifically the French part~

2) Was your country already made a character of Hetalia?
Who?

3) If it was, how fans in your country reacted to that personification? Do you guys like it or is there something you would like to change in it?
He's quiet and shy and for the most part ignored. I'm pretty sure almost every Canadian wishes he'd be shown a little more confident, but in truth, he hasn't actually shown up that much. We have seen a bit of the confident side when he blasted his anger at America and got him to cry, so we know it exists, he's just very passive-agressive. Most people also like his relationships with the rest of the cast; Ameribro and Papa France. And he was an utter dork during the 2010 Olympics, as was most of the Canadian population XD I think what we'd still like to see is the badass side, how Canada kicked but during the World Wars and such. But overall, the fans do love him~ Even what hasn't been shown that we find should have still can be easily added to his existing personality in fanfic. And like all Hetalia Nation-tans, Hima-papa managed to poke fun at the national stereotypes, without making fun of them in a mean way.

4) If not, is there an ‘official’ OC that was made in your fandom in place of your missing country? How does it looks like, how does it reflect upon your country's features?

About the following questions: The thing is that there is no "Canadaian Hetalia Fandom", we're all part of the "English Hetalia Fandom" which, aside from including Canada, America, England, Australia and other English-speaking nations, we've got a huge international portion. Basically, anyone that speaks English comes and goes on the Hetalia LJ Commmunity and influences everyone else, so it's hard to pinpoint who's thinking what. So most of the answers are also affected by opinions of other nations, such as the American fanbase which is larger than the Canadian fanbase, and the British fanbase which is also a part of the English fanbase.

5) Can you define who is the most popular character of Hetalia in your country?
Canada is definitely one of the most popular, along with America and England, but I'd have to say that Prussia is also one of the most popular characters in the fandom. Also, the Province-tans for Canada seem to be pretty popular.

6) What about the pairings? Is there any pairings that seems to be liked by the most of people in your country or is it very divided?
I don't ship it, but USUK is the most common pairing in the English fandom to the point it's treated as canon :'D It's more popular than GerIta... My OTP is actually PruCan, which I have noticed is gaining popularity in general, though most of the shippers do seem to be Canadian.

7) What is the most common view on the character of Poland? Is the Feliks, how he was created by the author, easily accepted?
I really like Poland. His crossdressing girly pinkness is not the main thing I see for his character. Sure, he may run about in a skirt, but he only does that occasionally. In reality, he's shy till you get to know him, then he'll be your best buddy. And he's also a badass. Afterall, he and Liet were knights once. I think the crossdressing in the fandom is slightly overdone, or it's completely ignored and then it doen't feel like Feliks anymore. But some people do get him right. He may wear a skirt on Fridays, but he can still kick your arse.

8) How does the fandom in your country works? Do you have any particular site or a forum that most of fans seem to use? Can you tell how many Hetalia fans, approximately, there is in your country?
I think the fandom is here on the LJ main comm, the other LJ offshoots like the Kinkmeme and CAPTALIA, and DeviantART. There are probably a few local site here and there to organize meetups, I know there was one for my city though it's kinda dead now...

9) Is Hetalia seen more of a humorous manga that shouldn’t be taken seriously? Is many people trying to apply actual historical meaning to it?
Both really. The canon is treaty as utterly lovely and humours, a way to make fun of the silly stereotypes without doing it in a mean way. Most people also have fun relating current events to Hetalia. It's really fandom material like fanart and fanfic that people like to explore the more serious side. I think It's best that way. I probably wouldn't have liked Hetalia if it was serious in canon, and I prefer the serious fanworks to the cracky stuff.

10) Is there any popular memes (for example: Iceland's white boots, Hotland’s…pardon me, Netherlands’ tulips etc.), sayings, tags that you see as common only in your country?
All the fandom's funnies basically meld together. I know there was a great love for anything Olympic, and we love mentioning how scary Canada can get when there's talk of hockey. But everything else is really whatever is popular in the English fandom.

1) What country are you from?
Spain!

2) Was your country already made a character of Hetalia?
Yup :3

3) If it was, how fans in your country reacted to that personification? Do you guys like it or is there something you would like to change in it?
As I saw, many people love it. But things like tomatoes, the bullfighting or the "fusososo"... in my personal sight, they aren't touched a lot, because are a bit strange.

4) If not, is there an ‘official’ OC that was made in your fandom in place of your missing country? How does it looks like, how does it reflect upon your country's features? But there's a LOT of personifications of the Spanish regions. I saw a lot from the place I had come from, Catalonia. A LOT.

5) Can you define who is the most popular character of Hetalia in your country?
Probably Spain. Also France, England, USA... and Romano!

6) What about the pairings? Is there any pairings that seems to be liked by the most of people in your country or is it very divided?
Hum, I saw that people likes US/UK, GerIta, SuFin, Spamano... the usual pairings. But there's also a lot of FrUK fans.

7) What is the most common view on the character of Poland? Is the Feliks, how he was created by the author, easily accepted?
People like Poland, but he isn't a popular character in the Spanish fandom, and is easily accepted. Although many can see only the crossdressing and Girl Valley's accent.
I have a friend who once wrote Prussia/Poland, but Lithuania/Poland is more common.

8) How does the fandom in your country works? Do you have any particular site or a forum that most of fans seem to use? Can you tell how many Hetalia fans, approximately, there is in your country?
People use [livejournal.com profile] hetalia_esp and DeviantArt; then there are a lot of RPG forums. And I don't know how many Hetalia fans are in Spain; in Barcelona we are about 100... well, it's difficult to say. I've never saw a place to all the Spanish fans and, if exists, I hadn't ever seen.

9) Is Hetalia seen more of a humorous manga that shouldn’t be taken seriously? Is many people trying to apply actual historical meaning to it?
Hetalia is seen like an humorous manga. Personally, I saw it like that (because when I saw all the treatment of Spanish Civil War... whoa, it hurts a little).
I try to apply an actual historical meaning to my fanfics, because I love history and I think, for example, that Spain is a bit acid in the Franco times.

10) Is there any popular memes (for example: Iceland's white boots, Hotland’s…pardon me, Netherlands’ tulips etc.), sayings, tags that you see as common only in your country?
The Bad Friends Trio stuff is incredibly popular.

1) What country are you from?
Good ol' US of A!

2) Was your country already made a character of Hetalia?
Yes.

3) If it was, how fans in your country reacted to that personification? Do you guys like it or is there something you would like to change in it?
A lot of people I've talked to that like the show really love America and find it funny that he's sometimes a jerk because of stereotypes and not everyone is like that, but he's a likeable person.

4) If not, is there an ‘official’ OC that was made in your fandom in place of your missing country? How does it looks like, how does it reflect upon your country's features? N/A

5) Can you define who is the most popular character of Hetalia in your country? Um... Prussia definitely, and England I think too has gotten a lot of recognition. I've seen a lot of Seychelle cosplayers as well, so maybe she's also getting some love?

6) What about the pairings? Is there any pairings that seems to be liked by the most of people in your country or is it very divided? I know that many people are at least either USUK or FRUK lovers and that the fans are divided on who likes what. Everyone either loves or at least accepts GerIta from what I've seen, and Giripan is also popular.

7) What is the most common view on the character of Poland? Is the Feliks, how he was created by the author, easily accepted? He is accepted, if anything, in my parts. A few of my friends really love the character!

8) How does the fandom in your country works? Do you have any particular site or a forum that most of fans seem to use? Can you tell how many Hetalia fans, approximately, there is in your country?
The fandom probably doesn't work much differently than other fandoms. Um, most Hetalia fans I know either use LJ or Facebook to interact. LOTS. They just don't go to my school D: but when I go to conventions there are a ton of lovers!

9) Is Hetalia seen more of a humorous manga that shouldn’t be taken seriously? Is many people trying to apply actual historical meaning to it?
I believe that this is a mix between people in the US, but from people I know we get actual historical meanings and it makes us want to learn more history (heck we learned more than school history classes!). And thanks to the historical aspect of it, fans here are more accepting to other countries, such as Germany (and learning that there was a country called Prussia! I didn't know that before Hetalia!) But we do get humor from watching it as well :)

10) Is there any popular memes (for example: Iceland's white boots, Hotland’s…pardon me, Netherlands’ tulips etc.), sayings, tags that you see as common only in your country? The memes? Um, from what I know, Iggy's eyebrows have been popular :D

And I'm only saying what I've seen/heard in my country and this is my own personal opinion :) just saying~

1) What country are you from? The Republic of the Philippines, a small tropical archipelago known as the Pearl of the Orient.
2) Was your country already made a character of Hetalia? No. And most of us from the HetaPH comm do not mind that, contrary to popular opinion.
3) If it was, how fans in your country reacted to that personification? Do you guys like it or is there something you would like to change in it? There was that one horrifying moment when everybody was abuzz with the Asia3=Philippines hoax and how scared we were at how the politicians would think. But since that isn't true, then we all calmed down.
4) If not, is there an ‘official’ OC that was made in your fandom in place of your missing country? How does it looks like, how does it reflect upon your country's features? One of the most popular OCs in the HetaPH comm is Maria, whose second name varies according to the author (I used to use Clara, my friends used Isabella, Aurora, Salome, and many others), and whose last name can either be delos Santos, dela Cruz, or Carriedo. She usually has long dark hair, tan skin, a cheerful personality with a hot temper, and is usually a hard-working Roman Catholic girl...who loves taking naps and traveling. XD There's a lot more to her than that, and personally, I think she fits most of the people in Luzon...she doesn't look much like a girl from Mindanao. For that purpose, there are also those who use the triplets (Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao); they are usually male, but one of my friends made a female version, too. And before I entered the community, a male version of the Philippines was popular. His name is Juan.
5) Can you define who is the most popular character of Hetalia in your country? If you were to count the Prussia cosplayers in the last HetaDay Manila's pictures...then I would have to say him, hands down.
6) What about the pairings? Is there any pairings that seems to be liked by the most of people in your country or is it very divided? Oh, it's rather very divided - amongst the canonxOC pairs, that is. Most of us who want to see the canon pairs come here to the main comm; the PH comm's been divided recently over USPH, MexPH, SpainPH, and a myriad of other concoctions (I actually ship UKPH myself, but don't worry, that doesn't make me a weird person, I ship canon pairs too!). Two of my friends have been spreading the FrUK love along the way, though, and they're rather popular.
7) What is the most common view on the character of Poland? Is the Feliks, how he was created by the author, easily accepted? He's an adorable crossdresser who happens to be one of the most resilient Nations in the series. There's more to him behind the dress, if you were to ask me.
8) How does the fandom in your country works? Do you have any particular site or a forum that most of fans seem to use? Can you tell how many Hetalia fans, approximately, there is in your country? We usually post in the Hetalia PH LJ community (http://community.livejournal.com/hetalia_ph), and usually not stray so far, for fear we might be seen by the people outside LJ, who are...not exactly very friendly. We also come here to the main comm a lot of times, too. One of my friends, Lixi, had a fanart post here and was very well-recieved. The fics I post here are quite well-received by the nice people here at LJ, too. It's really hard to put a number on it, because most of the Filipino Hetalians are lurkers, and some of them live in other countries.
9) Is Hetalia seen more of a humorous manga that shouldn’t be taken seriously? Is many people trying to apply actual historical meaning to it? I think that the series itself should be taken with a grain of salt, but there are so much lovely fanworks that give us a new spin on history and are definitely worth the miles of footnotes.
10) Is there any popular memes (for example: Iceland's white boots, Hotland’s…pardon me, Netherlands’ tulips etc.), sayings, tags that you see as common only in your country? In what we now call "the Golden Age of Hetalia Philippines", there used to be a shirtless Spain meme that became really popular...now, there's been a sudden influx of May-December romances.

1) What country are you from?
United States

2) Was your country already made a character of Hetalia?
Indeed

3) If it was, how fans in your country reacted to that personification? Do you guys like it or is there something you would like to change in it?
I love it. Every aspect of Alfred, positive or negative, is something that I see in the people around me, everyone's got a piece of Alfred in them. But I do think there is only one thing that I would change if i had the chance, and it's nothing that Himaruya has done. The only thing that bugs me is the voice of America in the Japanese anime. It just seems way too whiny and nasally, and I come from an area of the country which might have one of the most nasally accents of all the states. I'm not saying that I want him to have some deep heroic husky accent, because that would annoy me even more than his nasal speak. I just wish it was toned down just a tad, not much, just a tiny bit. And I think Alfred should ALWAYS laugh as much as he does! Actually, no, he should laugh even MORE. I always laugh when he laughs and it's just so fun.

4) If not, is there an ‘official’ OC that was made in your fandom in place of your missing country? How does it look like, how does it reflect upon your country's features?
N/A

5) Can you define who is the most popular character of Hetalia in your country?
Probably my own country, America, but I think the fact that everyone has roots coming out of so many of the rich soils of the world, that nearly everyone has a second (or multiple) favorite(s) that is/are especially close to them. I personally have family from Canada so I hold Matthew dear to me, but I'm descended from most of the larger countries of the British Isles, which is why I burn for Himaruya to come out with England's brothers (Scotland, Ireland, and Wales).

*Continued from above

6) What about the pairings? Is there any pairings that seems to be liked by the most of people in your country or is it very divided?
I personally don't ship, but I think that US/UK is especially popular due to the Revolutionary War, as well as America and Russia due to the cold war, and America and Canada because... I'm not sure, brotherly love? War of 1812? The fact that they are portrayed as such different people while still sharing almost identical cultures?

7) What is the most common view on the character of Poland? Is the Feliks, how he was created by the author, easily accepted?
I doubt he's an accurate portrayal of Poland, but I think people in this forum accept him so easily just because he's such a strange and unique character. I actually thought of Polish immigrants as being quite macho, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was because they were Jewish immigrants that went through hell and back just to escape WW2 Poland and developed a more gruff survivalist view of the world that they brought with them to where ever they safely settled. So Felix throws all of that on its head, and is so bizarre and out of the ordinary that he's likable just for that.

8) How does the fandom in your country work? Do you have any particular site or a forum that most fans seem to use? Can you tell how many Hetalia fans, approximately, there is in your country?
Oh, God!! Since the US is predominantly English speaking, we share these forums with the UK, Ireland, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and so many other countries that result in a daunting plethora of forums, and makes it difficult to tell who comes from which country. I normally stick to the main LJ forum (this one we're in), but there are so many out there.
This is one of the main archives of English Scanlations http://hetalia.wikia.com/wiki/Hetalia_Archives
and this is probably the most complete list of groups that I'm aware of http://www.horror-vacui.net/hetarchive/commlist.php

9) Is Hetalia seen more of a humorous manga that shouldn’t be taken seriously? Is many people trying to apply actual historical meaning to it?
Both! Some people, such as myself, love the use of individual people with all their quirks representing entire countries and the actions (good, bad, or ridiculous) of those countries throughout history. Sometimes it sticks to straight up facts, mirroring history. Other times, Hetalia adheres itself to stereotypes and jokes (How many Americans does it take to screw in a lightbulb? None! They get their illegal Mexican immigrant maid to do it for them). And occasionally it's just plain random for no reason at all (such as some of the recent Mochi strips that have come out). But typically, it's a mix of all of the above. In short, take everything that has Hetalia in it with a grain of salt.

10) Is there any popular memes (for example: Iceland's white boots, Hotland’s…pardon me, Netherlands’ tulips etc.), sayings, tags that you see as common only in your country?
I'm sure there's plenty, I just haven't kept up on Hetalia enough to be aware of them.

1) What country are you from?
- Germany

2) Was your country already made a character of Hetalia?
- Obviously

3) If it was, how fans in your country reacted to that personification? Do you guys like it or is there something you would like to change in it?
- From what I've experienced, everyone is quite happy with our Ludwig :D I guess everyone is rather glad he didn't turn out to be a cold-hearted murderer (which wouldn't have been too unexpected with WW2 and all) ... and you all have to admit, he's sexy |D

4) If not, is there an ‘official’ OC that was made in your fandom in place of your missing country? How does it looks like, how does it reflect upon your country's features?
- No

5) Can you define who is the most popular character of Hetalia in your country?
- Oh boy ... that's a very good question. Prussia maybe? But really, I have no idea

6) What about the pairings? Is there any pairings that seems to be liked by the most of people in your country or is it very divided?
- the standard ones. USUK, FrUK, Gerita, ...

7) What is the most common view on the character of Poland? Is the Feliks, how he was created by the author, easily accepted?
- Hm, to be honest, I've never really talked about Feliks with other Hetalia fans except for one friend of mine. We both like him very much :3

8) How does the fandom in your country works? Do you have any particular site or a forum that most of fans seem to use? Can you tell how many Hetalia fans, approximately, there is in your country?
- We do have animexx.de which has its own sections for fanart, fanfictions, doujinshi and meet-ups. I guess the meet-up part is most important for the community since events are easy to organize

9) Is Hetalia seen more of a humorous manga that shouldn’t be taken seriously? Is many people trying to apply actual historical meaning to it?
- Both I guess. Everyone I've met so far knows very well that Hetalia cannot really be seen as real history lessons. However, the fans do use the characters in more serious ways to refer to historical events sometimes.

10) Is there any popular memes (for example: Iceland's white boots, Hotland’s…pardon me, Netherlands’ tulips etc.), sayings, tags that you see as common only in your country?
- The same ones like on this community

I hope I could help you with that (:

1) What country are you from?
Russian Federation.

2) Was your country already made a character of Hetalia?
Yes.

3) If it was, how fans in your country reacted to that personification? Do you guys like it or is there something you would like to change in it?
Uhm, so far, I've never heard anyone from my country say anything bad.

4) If not, is there an ‘official’ OC that was made in your fandom in place of your missing country? How does it looks like, how does it reflect upon your country's features?

5) Can you define who is the most popular character of Hetalia in your country?
I have no idea, but I guess Italy is popular among my friends.

6) What about the pairings? Is there any pairings that seems to be liked by the most of people in your country or is it very divided?
Eheh, I haven't really paid attention.

7) What is the most common view on the character of Poland? Is the Feliks, how he was created by the author, easily accepted?
Well, my friends and I think he's funny.

8) How does the fandom in your country works? Do you have any particular site or a forum that most of fans seem to use? Can you tell how many Hetalia fans, approximately, there is in your country?
I just use here and a few other sites. I'm not big on visiting fandom-centric pages; mostly just scantalation sites and the like~

9) Is Hetalia seen more of a humorous manga that shouldn’t be taken seriously? Is many people trying to apply actual historical meaning to it?
Well, I don't think it should be taken to seriously, but there are always those types, right?

10) Is there any popular memes (for example: Iceland's white boots, Hotland’s…pardon me, Netherlands’ tulips etc.), sayings, tags that you see as common only in your country?
I'm not sure if anyone else thinks so outside my little group, but we see Russia's erogenous zone as his nose.

since he rest of scandinavia was represented...

1) What country are you from?
Norway

2) Was your country already made a character of Hetalia?
Ja :D

3) If it was, how fans in your country reacted to that personification? Do you guys like it or is there something you would like to change in it?
I think there are a few divided opinions. Some love his design and others feel he should either have been made a bit more manly (or if you have to dress him up in dresses, make Norway a girl)
((any other nordic fans who will join me in voting for more bearded/manly nodics? :D ))

5) Can you define who is the most popular character of Hetalia in your country?
oooh, tricky question. I think the Nordics in general are fairly popular - as is the main axis and allies

6) What about the pairings? Is there any pairings that seems to be liked by the most of people in your country or is it very divided?
I think it's actually fairly divided and spread out. bet you you'll find someone who ships everyone XD

7) What is the most common view on the character of Poland? Is the Feliks, how he was created by the author, easily accepted?
Personaly I think he's fairly funny - but I'd never have though that would be his character design. With the amount of polish people working and living in Norway, most see them as hard-working and brave (afterall, moving to another country and picing up another language in 3 months is a pluss in any ones books) but over all I don't think anyone minds his character or personality

8) How does the fandom in your country works? Do you have any particular site or a forum that most of fans seem to use? Can you tell how many Hetalia fans, approximately, there is in your country?
There is a few Nordic LJ comuneties, but often it's mainly international ones (much excitement on my part when I find fellow nordic hetlaia fans <.< )

9) Is Hetalia seen more of a humorous manga that shouldn’t be taken seriously? Is many people trying to apply actual historical meaning to it?
Both - I think. The canon manga is probably more humour - while the fanbase is where more acurate history comes in. I love both sides of it :D

10) Is there any popular memes (for example: Iceland's white boots, Hotland’s…pardon me, Netherlands’ tulips etc.), sayings, tags that you see as common only in your country?
honestly....no idea XD think we follow the usual memes

Yes yes yessss~ so true with the beard-thing, like you said over at mine xD <3

Also, personally I don't think Norway really looks all that girly! I mean.. seriously, when I look away from all the weird fanart and to his official art, there has only been one picture with him where I thought he looked slightly girly (middle-age one, if you were in doubt). But honestly, if people can take their minds off of new-age fashion depictions (trousers for men, dresses for girls), they'll find that this kind of attire (long tunics and such) was pretty normal in many places - especially at court.

Beards need to make a comeback! I've seen fanart where Sweden has a beard..and I was like: sdfghjklpækøojhgjfdx *faint*

in the offical art and the anime he's actually not that girly. but in 90% of the fanart... Bl (saying that I think the art is beautiful, but I get extra happy when I find art where Norway actually looks like a man XD )
besides, think of all the weapons he could have hidden under that tunic! :D

Let's kick-start a hetalia-beard meme!
:D

1) What country are you from?
I live in america, Though I have long lines of heritage from Europe
2) Was your country already made a character of Hetalia?
Yep!
3) If it was, how fans in your country reacted to that personification? Do you guys like it or is there something you would like to change in it?
Oh, America loves Alfred. We would change his attitude a bit, but I'm in love with his enthusiasm!
4) If not, is there an ‘official’ OC that was made in your fandom in place of your missing country? How does it looks like, how does it reflect upon your country's features?
Nope-
5) Can you define who is the most popular character of Hetalia in your country?
Suprisingly, It's England.
6) What about the pairings? Is there any pairings that seems to be liked by the most of people in your country or is it very divided?
Very divided. As far as I can tell, we spit into three groups: USUK, FRUK, and Gerta
7) What is the most common view on the character of Poland? Is the Feliks, how he was created by the author, easily accepted?
Uh... Poland is mostly seen as the gay dude- Loves shopping too.
8) How does the fandom in your country works? Do you have any particular site or a forum that most of fans seem to use? Can you tell how many Hetalia fans, approximately, there is in your country?
It's a very confusing thing, and you have the typical fangirls, the shippers, and the creators. We fight a lot over shipping, and how characters should act. And I'm not really sure, I haven't found one
9) Is Hetalia seen more of a humorous manga that shouldn’t be taken seriously? Is many people trying to apply actual historical meaning to it?
Lil bit of both.
10) Is there any popular memes (for example: Iceland's white boots, Hotland’s…pardon me, Netherlands’ tulips etc.), sayings, tags that you see as common only in your country?
America's 9/11 thing, The Civil war, and the America things.

And the America getting owned by Canada thing too XD
