[SCANLATION] Britannia Angel

While I'm waiting for my translation of Hetare Chapter 3 to be edited, I went ahead and scanlated this strip myself. I love this one especially because it features England in an angel costume (HAHA POOR ARTHUR) and baby!Korea. Cuteness all around?

Note: Korea is probably trying to say "man-sae" which is like "yay" in Korean, but his baby voice makes it come out as "man-chae." (Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] chinko_inkei!)

Um, so. Hopefully I'll post again with Ch. 3 sometime soon?

I got that from JFen. No idea who came up with it, but it's BRILLIANT. XDDD

I KNOW. Editing is such a pain. I usually do it myself to save my editor some grief (and to save from writing too many notes---she's not exactly Japanese literate, so) but seriously. And the photoshopping arrrgh. I don't know how the professionals do it.

You should see how many sites involve him. He's like, colonized the entire fandom. I love that. more pr0n for me The sun shall never set on the Empire!

Oops, sorry. JFen = Japanese Fandom. I picked it up when some people were meta-ing around me, I guess. XD;

Want recs? :D I've been diving in and out of fandom since Jan, and I know a handful of sites. Okay, granted, I'm usually in the US-CA-FR circle for UK pairings, but if you're a like-minded fellow?

Wonderful. We're equally US/UK fandom sheep (I branch out mostly because with the other two US is bound to pop up at some point, to tell the truth) so this should be swimming. :D A few questions before I do, though : Any characterization preference? Weird kinks? Fanfic/manga/art or just art and manga? Sorry that I have to ask those, but US/UK is huge and wondrous and I'd just like to narrow it down.

Okay, try these? Sorry if I sound overly excited, there's not enough Japanese-literate people to throw recs on and I often feel like an abandoned puppy :

きみの不在 (http://lis.bird.cx/if/) alternates between US/UK and FR/UK. The art is gorgeous. The fics are usually good. For manga, I'd recommend 夜と獣 to anyone.
Orange (http://orng.rash.jp/ht/top.html) is ultra fluffy and ultra cute, and there's very little else, but I love the art so there.
さよならバス (http://2st.jp/teaboy/top2.html) ranges from angsty, thoughtful to Middle School cute. Also has nice Russia/Liet oneshot if you're into that.
ユニコ (http://www.kcn.ne.jp/~inuinu/unico/jack.html) is crack. It's cute. I love the one where America goes on a list of what the fans what him to do with UK and misinterprets them mostly.
BE HAPPY! (http://www.geocities.jp/a_pear_tree_and_a_loquat/)...I know the art sucks, but if you like angsty US/UK, it doesn't get much better as far as Japanese fandom goes.
後は野となれ山となれ (http://afmountain.boo.jp/frame01.htm) is CUTE. Sometimes it's gen. US/UK, FR/CA.
Generic art/manga sites but they're nice : Chronic Love (http://osg.ehoh.net/cl/), Merou404 (http://merou.fc2web.com/top.html), End of Cliff (http://p-xx.com/hetaly/), 零グラビティ (http://ect.sub.jp/zg/).

I have more fanfic links, but you're a fanart person, yarr? Hope you have fun with these! :D

Scared? SCARED? I've been waiting to friend back a J-literate US/UK fellow fanpoodle for AGES. NINE MONTHS OMIGOD. You can wear a fruit bowl to school and you still will not be uncool in my book, trust me. *friends back*

Oh, then I'll organize up a rec post one of these days. Your reading speed goes up a lot faster, I find, after getting drowned in fandom. I think mine went up by 70% after the 200th time UK gets surprisekissed or so. (JFen!US really likes surprise kisses, I feel like I'm reading bad shoujo sometimes.)

[identity profile] equivalent-t.livejournal.com 2008-08-27 06:29 am (UTC)(link)
That is because you're not as much of a social retard as I am, probably. I mean, your post count rather outnumbers mine by leaps, and I've been here for a few months. But yeah, one thing about Hetalia? It doesn't grow on you. Either you fall for it HARD or you don't at all, it's kind of a bitchy fandom like that. Oh how I love it so.

I've seen some places that actually does that kiss stuff well and meaningfully, though. I don't think it makes or breaks the content---there are some plots that require such a thing to get resolved at all---but the usual ways they bring it about are kinda...yeah. I don't mind bad shoujo that much, I can enjoy them, but it does gets old after a while. What is your comic about?

[identity profile] equivalent-t.livejournal.com 2008-08-27 06:56 am (UTC)(link)
Haha, I think I only had five or six in undergrad, so I'm not much better. And don't get me started on How to Find Friends in Grad School, since I have absolutely no idea except the total of five guys in my lab. XD;;;

Oh? Then I can feel safe about giving you the rest of my bookmarks sometime, I guess. XD I hesitate to throw those around because most people I know aren't okay with mushy things, decent content or no. There are also a couple sites where they do decent 'sake of being mushy', as much as I'm bored of the idea by now. I'll sift through and see if they're reccable.

I like those, though. The ones I get tired of are basically those where Al randomly badgers Arthur for sex. How much of bad shoujo can we get? (It can be cute when he's just badgering for affection, however)
