[Official Blog] "slightly assuming a resolute attitude" Italy and Japanese Prefectures!

Himaruya's updated his blog with some information on the artbook, and a picture of Italy! Kitty is there, too! And some chibis of what appear to be Japan's prefectures? They may not be for Hetalia, however, although I see "Hetalia" written in the text beneath them.

Entry can be found here!

And before anyone starts to complain about "B'aww why are there prefictures but no (country/place X)?" Hima's Japanese. He knows a lot more about his own culture and homeland and it's easier to do research on things and draw about things he knows about. When it comes to making characters of other countries, he actually has to research, and some things are not as easily found in Japanese, if findable at all, as they are in English. So don't start whining. Here.

The USA was designed to function like a number of countries overseen by a larger governmental body, comparable to the way the EU functions, rather than one single country. That's why they are called "state" (a synonym for nation) rather than "province" or "territory" or something else, and why the majority of laws are made on a state level. The states function almost entirely autonomously.

That's why my head-canon has always recognized America's states as having their own personifications.

Yes, but the point is "designed as", not "were" for centuries, like the European countries. Also the EU is not a political, but an economical union.

Though that is only my opinion,
