[Official Site] France and Germany!

Himaruya's updates his blog yet again! This time with the recently rather buddy-buddy France and Germany. (Although, Germany looks unamused as usual. Even when they're getting along they don't get along well, do they?)

My translator won't translate the blog title. . . .

Basically, in the blog, Himaruya says that the cooperation between these two recently is odd(in pretty much all of their history they've been at one another's throats, however, at present, they've been quite friendly and cooperative with one another).

In addition, he mentions, in post script, that the fastest walker is Ireland. However, the many images of Ireland make creating an Ireland character troubling, because he doesn't know what kind of character to make him/her.

My French teacher compared the relationship of France and Germany to America and Canada's... although I'm not sure how true that is. Border buddies, I guess you can call it.

And hnnng, just the fact that he acknowledged Ireland made me happy~

Well, now we know why there hasn't been an Ireland thus far.

Just make them gender-ambiguous with Dissociative identity disorder and you can use all of the personalities. Problem Solved.

Technically, Germans have always been iffy of the French, starting with the Austrians and Prussians. They had a huge rivalry (maybe not to the extent France and England did, however), even to the point where Germans would not touch garlic because they didn't want to smell like them, lol. This is one of the reasons why traditional German food doesn't have much garlic or spices other than green ones.

But with globalization and partnership, and well, Europe trying to put an end to their bloody, war torn ways, it can't be helped that they are starting to cooperate now, which is a wonderful thing! More EU bonding is always appreciated.

These two being friends is so cute. I endorse that France continues to take Germany and America out to titty bars, seriously. More of this, Himaruya. I'd play a game like this.

I remember recently reading about the relations between their bosses...

They hate each other but have to get along for the sake of the EU...also Germany's boss wears the pants in that relationship.

Woohoo, France and Germany! :D I think it's sweet how they would try their best to overcome past indifference and become friends.

Not surprisingly enough, I think these two would highly amuse me as good friends. Their characters are quite opposite, and I always love huge character dynamics.

[identity profile] gloomykuma.livejournal.com 2011-01-27 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
Good to see that he's thinking about an Ireland character!

[identity profile] plumora.livejournal.com 2011-01-27 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
Fastest walker? That's so random. Why do people decide to study this kind of stuff?

[identity profile] gloomykuma.livejournal.com 2011-01-27 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
Ummm

Did you know a koala's appendix is about 2 meters long?

I like researching the lengths of different animals' appendixes.

[identity profile] xxmapsyrxx.livejournal.com 2011-01-27 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
At least he has thought about Ireland, regardless of him/her troubling him or not.....Personally, i think he should focus on developing New Zealand, Australia and Vietnam before moving forward with more characters.....sort of promote less-used characters than continue to create new characters....

[identity profile] sinverse7.livejournal.com 2011-01-27 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
yes!! more gerfra! :D it seems like himaruya is realizing their current friendship :) <3

[identity profile] larystienli.livejournal.com 2011-01-27 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
France and Germany - totally watching this space. *French, studied german and stayed in Germany a couple of times* I studied quite a lot about the two countries' relationship, so I wonder what Himaruya will make of it. Anyway, I go for couples with opposite personalities - I already love Germany and Italy for that reason and I think I'm gonna like these two as well.
(I can't help imagining France teasing Germany about sex - and possibly about his porn industry and places like Hamburg's Reeperbahn XD)

Same, I'm curious about the Ireland character. In the meantime, I've created my own OCs Ireland and Northern Ireland for a fan fic based on Ireland's history - both are female but with a very tomboyish attitude ( a bit like Hungary). What's with the fast walking thing, though ?

France/Germany?

I approve :]

[identity profile] kecen.livejournal.com 2011-01-27 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
France and Germany together *_*

I started shipping them after I read an article comparing present relations between China and Japan to past relations of France and Germany. Fanon often portrays France and Germany being married. So the two countries don't really have pleasant feelings towards each other?

But, I like how x years ago it would have been blasphemous to ship France/Germany. Their personalities complement each other, too.

Just make him/her awesome. We know you can do it Hima!!!

Yay, I love how Himaruya finally acknowledges the Franco-German friendship! Come on Papaland, don't be so grumpy around your hubby, just look how happy France is next to you. <3

[identity profile] lishypo.livejournal.com 2011-01-27 12:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I can totally believe that about Ireland. My best friend is Irish, I'm American. She's come over to spend summers with me and she always leaves me far, far behind when we go places. Of course, she's also 5'7" and I'm 5'2". ._.;;

[identity profile] lai-choi-san.livejournal.com 2011-01-27 01:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Aah Himaruya, you're spoiling the supporter of GermanyxFrance in me ! ♥ In real life, their cooperation is not so odd. Germans and French have very close points of view on many subjects. Hetalia wise, imagining Ludwig and Francis together is just too exciting. Although -real life strikes again- the German people I know are much more extroverted than Ludwig !

[identity profile] kisu-fu.livejournal.com 2011-01-27 02:25 pm (UTC)(link)
According to the many lessons about the German-French relationship when I had French at school a few years ago.. yep. They really do get along quite well..

And-- IRELAND T_T Do want SO. BADLY.

[identity profile] nighteevee.livejournal.com 2011-01-27 04:24 pm (UTC)(link)
But why the WWII uniforms.

Franco-German cooperation is not odd, Himaruya, it's incredible and awesome ^^!
Yeah for Ireland too!

[identity profile] juandalyn.livejournal.com 2011-01-27 05:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, the Franco-German relationship...

To be honest, compared to what happened before and during WWII the relationship today is really friendly. There was a book that mentioned France and Germany would totally be the parents of modern Europe XD (before someone asks for England/UK - he/they are mentioned as strange auntie :)).

Of course, there are two critical theories:
1. There's the rivalry of being the most influantial country in the EU
2. Both of them being THE power in the EU like a former world power.

Everybody can pick their theory. But it's definately not hate anymore.
