Thank you so much for compiling this list, saved me many times! ♥

One minor suggestion, late as it may be, about Prussia's last name バイルシュミット. While "Weillschmidt" doesn't look or sound particularly weird/wrong, what Himaruya might have been going for could also be "Beilschmidt", which means "smith of axes". But I guess either way is fine, last names don't always have to mean something after all... =)

Ukraine has a first name :D It's Katyusha, a family diminutive of Katya or Yekaterina, and is also the title of a Soviet military song and the name of a Soviet ROCKET LAUNCHER!
Source for her name is the Japanese Wikipedia entry (http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/Axis_powers_%E3%83%98%E3%82%BF%E3%83%AA%E3%82%A2).

I'm kind of new to this fandom, so I apologize for this question, but what's with the secondary names? Where do they come from?

Like, I don't think I ever see them used in the manga, it's always "Doitsu" or "Italia", but in fan work it's all "Ludwig" and "Feliciano"... How are we to keep track?! o......rz

Thank you! This is very helpful since I've started reading only recently and I still find myself wondering who on Earth is this or that guy XD
Thanks!

Didn't Denmark have a name? I heard it was "Mathias", but I'm not sure if it is fan-made or by the author.

[identity profile] princeroxas.livejournal.com 2009-09-15 03:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Denmark has no official name yet.
anubismito: (Default)

Just wondering

[personal profile] anubismito 2009-07-13 05:46 am (UTC)(link)
I've noticed Ludwig doesn't have surname... I read that the author didn't say it and say to the people that guess it, or soemthing like that...

I was wondering if Ludwig and Gilbert Weillschmidt are familiars?? Lol, if so, Lud's last name would be Weillschmidt....??

Thanks for Vash's profile. I'd been looking everywhere for it. Uh, I've got profiles for Denmark, Prussia, Seychelles, and Taiwan. (still working on Cuba, Norway, Iceland, Belguim, Sealand and Canada). If you want to add them to the list, I'd be happy to send the links.

thanks

What the **** is Berwald?????? Never heard of it, and I'm swedish xD

Though, I looked it up on google, and it seems that it have does excist/have existed people with the name, although, as a familyname xD

he shoule be named something like Lars Andersson. Or Sven. Sven is typically a name foreigners believe swedish guys are named.

And stupid people believes all the girls here are named INGA! I mean, there might be a few 90yearolds left with that name....

Sorry, but~... Aren't they twins? (N. Italy and S. Italy)
Or did I get something wrong?
If so, how can Lovino be 2-3 years older?

Ukraine?

[identity profile] wizard-sabrina.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
Where's Ukraine? D: I can't find her....

And isn't Matthew (Canada) Alfred's (America's) twin brother? ...Or is that just me? 0-0

Wait a second here.... Hungary's profile says she has a cat and dog relationship with Romania, WHERE THE HELL IS ROMANIA THEN!?!?! :(( i want to see him/her!!! at least his/her profile!

Ludwig

[identity profile] mogasmo.livejournal.com 2010-11-25 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Anubismito mentioned it already - since Ludwig is Gilbo's younger brother, his surname probably also is Weillschmidt...

Germany's last name

[identity profile] irene yan (from livejournal.com) 2011-01-06 07:36 am (UTC)(link)
I think Germany's last name is West - that's what Prussia calls him and occasionally others too.
