[scanlation] Polish Swedish Wars 1598 (1621)-1629

Scanlation time!

I figured since [livejournal.com profile] equivalent_t is doing the main story, I'll try to do the scanlations of the manga listed on the Hetalia timeline.

So here is the Polish-Swedish Wars manga!

Scanlated by yours truly, with help from [livejournal.com profile] hime1999 on page one, cuz I had problems with the receiving verb conjugation XD;

Ranting underneath, lol.


Also, just my luck that Sweden has a THICK Tohoku (North-Eastern Japan) accent.  It's really more like grunt-speak (I listen to my staff speak it), so I tried to make it sound like that...and to make matters worse, Poland has a thick Nagoya accent, which can only be described as...valley-girl-ish.  So...yeah...

Oh, and the knight Poland and Lithuania are fighting against is a Knight of the Teutonic Order, which is kinda like a predecessor to Prussia/Germany.

With the Austrian succession war and storage cleaning, this is one of my favourite strips. :3 I think you handled Sweden's Tohoku accent really nicely, too, considering what a PAIN 'grunting Japanese' can be to parse into English. XD

Sweden/Finland and Austria/Hungary seems to be the only mentally healthy couples around, relatively speaking. XD I read this webcomic where Sweden bought Sealand because Finland wanted a kid, and it's just so awwww adorable.

Sweden doing these things because Finland wants a kid is canon, too. XD See also : the recent strips on the colonization of America. He's very much the doting husband.

Yup. Sweden went online and bought Sealand cuz Finland wanted a child. XD If people express enough interest in that strip, I'll translate that first, along with some other Northern European strips.

I think this is one of my faves, too, cuz it was what solidified my love for Lithuania with his awesomeness. The other is definitely the Bloody Sunday strip, and then the Great Depression strip.

Tohoku accent is HARD to try and translate into another language O_o; I've seen it done into something like Taiwanese-accented Mandarin Chinese, but it just wasn't the same.

Oh god, seriously XDDD Austria/Hungary is so cute and Sweden/Finland is just...so healthy and sweet (except for when Finland is afraid of his husband's face) it rots my teeth. Sealand+Northern European couple=perfect family? XD
