Question; answers, please?

Hello!

I just discovered this fandom today, and I've been going through this comm. This has led to some questions.

First of all, is there a guide for a newcomer to the fandom? Keeping track of everything and knowing where to start and what to read is difficult, and I'd love to have something to refer back to every time I want to write fic, or share this with a friend.

Second, are there any english fanfics anyone here would highly recommend? I can't read Japanese, sadly, but I would like to read some fanfics for this fandom.

This fanfic (http://community.livejournal.com/hetalia/243401.html) by derogatory is AMAZING, if you can deal with something rather sad. I especially like it because it's amazingly well researched, and the author incorporated a lot of really beautiful, tragic metaphors for different historical events... *-*

In fact that may be be my absolute fave so far, simply for Poland's thoughts on Jesus. XD

I've got quite a few good ones saved, but I don't want to make a bunch of suggestions without knowing what you're looking for.
