Welcome to Greenwood Asylum, long-term mental health facility. One walk through these doors and you'll never see the world in quite the same way again.

It's the 1930s. The hospital currently houses two trained psychologists, a multitude of nurses and other assistants trained in both psychology and psychiatry. The patients housed here are the most difficult to deal with. Almost every patient has attempted murder on some level, whether it's by suicide or the death of another. Many of the second group succeeded. Naturally, it is almost impossible to find a patient who was not court-ordered. It's not that they're all out for blood, though. Some cracked under too much pressure. Some were in self-defense, but still can't handle that pain. Some see things no one else sees. The reasons are as many as there are patients.

The staff here try their hardest with the knowledge they have. While it's known that a good percentage of the patients will never make it back into society, every patient is treated as if he will one day walk the streets of the city again. Every word is a clue. Every motion, a sign. Nothing can be missed with these patients--it could mean the difference between seeing that smiling face returning to the arms of a loved one and having that smiling face be the last thing you ever see.


Looking into a mirror, any normal person would see themselves. The world around them, exactly as it is. Something normal. Something safe.

If that mirror were broken... how much more, then, would your perception of the world be?

Chapter Summary: Arthur was English. He was really English. Like, when I thought of a stereotypical English guy, something akin to an older version of Arthur would come to mind. Sure, he had his quirks, but he was definitely… way English.

And he had wings, which were his superpower, so he probably needed something like ‘angel’ or ‘seraphim’ in his name. I stared at him for a moment, trying to muster up something that had a good ring to it.

Ahah, that was it. That sounded awesome, and… I thought it went with Freedom Star pretty well, which was important.

I grinned, staring straight at the throng of reporters. “Britannia Angel. He’s called Britannia Angel.”

A hundred and fifty years into a horrific and cruel future, there is only one. As global warming took hold, freak weather occurrences became constant and disease started to take hold. War savaged those who survived, and Nations dwindled, dying off one by one as their people died and their cultures merged.

The seas rose in a slow and steady tide, until there was only Solus. A single island in a turbulent ocean, battered by sea storms, high winds and frequent rain.

On this island gathered those who could, but society soon split dramatically: those who had it all, who maintained the fortunate lifestyle of the rich from the old world, and those who had to support those lucky few. The Highlanders and the Lowlanders. Living in a sheltered city, away from the furious ocean, those from the High Lands lived a luxurious lifestyle, while those who lived in the Low Land city were constantly battling the ocean winds and storms.

And above them all, in a sacred hall, lived the mysterious and powerful Solus, leading the people through a puppet government.

It was into this divided and battered environment that, one by one, the old Nations were reborn. Now mortal and aging, and with no memories of their past lives, they seemed no different to the people around them until, slowly but surely, they begin to remember…
