SO. Anyone try to explain this to people who didn't know any better even though you KNEW they wouldn't understand?

I tried explaining this to my Mom. She got lost when I said "human versions of WW Nations" and it went downhill from there.

My mom knows and loves hetalia, she let me go at the bloodbath last year, cloistered in my room, getting 4 hours of sleep a day. She is so good to me...

It's such an easy concept. Countries are personified and then randomness ensues.

Dude, my Mom got lost when Pokemon came over here. I think Hetalia's a bit too much for her. XD;

I'm, preparing how I'm going to explain to my 5th and 6th students tomorrow why I'm a walking zombie tomorrow...

So far, I'm not thinking of anything logical. XD

YES.
I tried explaining it to someone who got angry and scared at me. D: They were lost from the start.
My mom doesn't want to know.
My dad thinks Hetalia is awesome and that the fandom is great.

I did actually, to my roommate. She actually heard about it at the April Fool's Bath. So she totally knew what was going on this time ^_^

My mom confused Russia and America... which was hilarious because she's grossly patriotic -lives in the US-. She also can't understand foreign accents or actively watch television apparently. If it isn't casual watching where you don't have to attempt to think to get the joke, she gets lost. It was priceless.

Me! My dad. x.x; My mom gets it; however, although I'm sure my dad is capable of understanding it, just doesn't care enough.

I tried explaining to my family once. Their immediate response was "Where is Mexico?"

.....No.

But my brother thinks England is a Gay Vampire due to noticing me reading this: http://shigo-stack.livejournal.com/50101.html#cutid1

<_<;;

I told them it's personification of nations.

They all said it's gay.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm just doing a poor job of explaining.

"It's about silly personifications of nations, see this one's for ____, and this one's for ____"
I mean it's not hard, right?
