(Scanlation) The Tunisia Campaign (America and England in Africa)

Or shiver me timbers, England and America be fighting the Axis pirate crew, arr!

I'm a lowly bilge rat because I'm terrible at this Talk like a Pirate day stuff, arr! Shiver me timbers and some junk!

Britain had been repeatedly beaten up by Germany in the African war front ever since Germany arrived;
however, Britain managed to turn the tables in El Alamein. The British army was pursuing the
Axis forces of Germany and Italy in Africa now.

And that's when the American army arrived.
The American forces, who were complete beginners in fighting in Africa, made quite a lot of blunders when they arrived.

1. They were superbly optimistic.
We're strong so we'll get by!

2. They were marvelously simplistic.
It seems the battle hardened Britain had to explain in great detail on why this plan was a bad one and the plan was eventually
rejected.

3. They were simply creating more unnecessary work.
America's boss viewed Britain's boss as a rival!
This 'rivalry' was the cause of many competitions on the battlefield and other pointless things!

"Germany? Let's kick their ass!" The American army went into battle with this enthusiastic mentality,
but due to the army's inexperience in fighting in Africa and 'America's strong! We can do something!' mindset,
the American army received a severe welcoming from Germany. After that, the Italian army captured a parachute brigade.
America's debut in Africa was unpleasant indeed.

Due to really poor communication and logistic support from both sides,
The Britain-American Allied Forces retreated, leaving behind their equipment.

For Soviet Russia, this was a delicious opportunity.

Uhm, I was thinking some days ago: "It's been a while since Himaruya posts his last strip".
And now, this.
Hima, you can read my mind?

"I would be really happy if the two of you fight a whole lot and then get exhausted!"
(wanna become one with Russia? XD)

Hmm?

"America's boss viewed Britain's boss as a rival!"

Strange...I always thought that Churchill and FDR were good friends o.o

Maybe they were like England and America or France? *wild guess since I have no knowledge about their actual relationship*

Thanks for the translations! I enjoyed reading about America's hubris. Though it wasn't his fault entirely. He just rushed in too fast. I liked the interactions he had with England. England can't catch a break with America around. Also Russia just had to squeeze himself in hoping for the spoils of the losing side bringing his pimp pipe to finish the job.

Again thanks for the translation!

Ahahaha~ Russia's plotting again, how cute!

[identity profile] onlyhereforthis.livejournal.com 2011-09-19 08:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I let out an "AAAAAWWWWW!!" at the second picture. The one with America sparkling. And yet the dialogue is extremely un-cute...xD

That panel where America shows up all beaten up... I get the feeling he's thinking something along the lines of "... Not as planned." or a similar phrase.

Don't mind me, I'll just be over here laughing my head off.
