[Fancomic] America's past haunts him

Howdie! This is the first time I've posted here. In a conversation with a friend, she urged me to post this incredibly unfinished comic I recently posted to my LJ and not here ('cause it'll be unfinished for a while due to a other comics taking precedence. :x)

Don't click in if you don't like unfinished stuff :x

Title: Um.. haunting past, idunno.
Author/Artist: Me
Character(s): US, um, a gary stu named Republic of Texas, (UK and Canada?)
Rating: I dunno, PG.

(cut off because it just goes into unintelligible sketches after that)

Note: Texans don't really act like they're part of America sometimes, and like to harbor the grudge, even now. Usually people fly Texas flags instead of US flags (except during election year apparently).

I made this way back in 2008 (XD) so I can't remember FOR THE LIFE OF ME what else was supposed to happen, other than some wacky interactions with France, and just the Republic of Texas haunting America-kun in general, and them eventually sealing Texas up back into America's glasses. :I

LOL TEXAS. Sadly, that is a lot like my poor home state. >_>;; Texas really is...someplace different.

It's nice! :D England force-feeding Canada made me lol. XD

Hahaa!
I honestly never knew Texas was like that!
-lives in Rhode Island and has never really left the state much, nevermind New England-
That shouldn't be an excuse though. ;;;

Canada being tied up and force fed made me laugh! Hahaa!
I love America's face in that last panel!

Supposively if the economy continues to fail Texas is going to secede. And if that happens Chuck Norris said he wants to run for president of Texas. (Random Fact of the Day)

Your Texas is so win.

It's not just texas, almost the entire south is like that. I went to Missouri and was creeped out by the amount of rebel flags infesting that place.

I always wondered why America's glasses represent Texas. Anything to do with ppl believing that b/c Texas was once an independent republic it could still, if it wanted to, leave the union? Who knows.

I'm a Texan, but since I live in a suburb of Houston, I don't see much "rebellion". The farther west you go it gets to be more like you say. We are pretty independent and proud of our state, though. xD

I love your Texas <3 This inspires me to want to draw some other personified states (including my own XD). Hetalia is good for artist block XD There's always something to draw ^^

The last panel has me thinking Texas is going: "LOOOOOOOOM~ I'M WATCHING YOUUUU~" XD

[identity profile] squigglymello.livejournal.com 2009-03-13 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Lol yes~
Makes me want to draw the Louisiana Purchase. XD

Texas! America's glasses...come to life I guess? o.o

Poor tied-up Canada, suffering with England's cooking. D:

I never knew many people in Texas wants to secede and from what I've read in the comments here, they seem more inclined to leave than Quebec ever will.

Quick question, probably slightly OT, but, is there any laws regarding if a state wants to leave?

Huh! I was four when we moved out of Texas and it's only now that you mention it that I remember seeing so many state flags. :D I like your design for him a lot. He looks irritable. :DDD

POOR MATTHEW. <3;

Well done. X3 it's nice and clean.

It's glasses-tan! ...I mean Texas-tan! Interesting concept, and I like your art style! :D

*needs to get everything out before she hits send next time oops* Also! Poor Canada!! D8 And also again! The stars in the last panel made me giggle xD Also also also! Your icon is completely hilarious xD

[identity profile] colevic.livejournal.com 2009-03-13 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
xD Oh, Texas. It's gotta be one of the weirdest (if not THE weirdest state in America.

[identity profile] jiyu-chan.livejournal.com 2009-03-13 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)
We are. Apparently everything has to be twice as big here and we have our own idiotic ways of accomplishing everything. orz It usually leads to disaster. |D

[identity profile] jiyu-chan.livejournal.com 2009-03-13 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Fun facts: The Texas flag is the only flag which can be raised at the same height as the American flag.

There are two kind of politics in Texas - Republican and Austin (I don't live in Austin, but I'd fall under that category |D)

Texas wants to be its own country. orz

I live in Texas. Isn't that nice to know. orz

[identity profile] nittle-grasper.livejournal.com 2009-03-13 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
...er, what? I don't think Texans harbor any grudge against America, I think they just REALLY LIKE TEXAS. It's not like America forced them to join or anything. CALIFORNIA wants to leave more than Texas wants to leave XD

[identity profile] lovekills91.livejournal.com 2009-03-13 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Alfred eating a Bison burger?!

[identity profile] meltedpeep.livejournal.com 2009-03-13 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)
That is a mighty fine belt buckle, Tex. Didja win it at the rodeo? :D :D :D

(Personally, I've never felt any consensus that Texans as a whole seriously want to leave the Union. We just like to point out ad nauseum that we CHOSE to join unlike that big dumb showoff Alaska. Plus we're in love with our spicy fusion food and armadillos and rolling hill country and oh god oh god I wanna go home even if Houston is all gross and humid the whole year round aaaauuugh.)

I like that he doesn't say anything, by the way. Just...glares.
The eyes of Texas are upon you, Alfred.

OMG YOU MENTIONED ALASKA

[identity profile] princessarisa.livejournal.com 2009-03-13 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL. I love how Texans harbour a grudge about Alaska stealing its glory~ *us being obsessed with size lol...and for us being dumped for Alaskan oil*
The only things that gets close is us being all pissy about Hawaii.
Where were all: 'HURHUR WE WERE OUR OWN REPUBLIC'
Hawaii's all: 'Well, we were once our own empire. HOHUM.
Texas: ....... >:l

Texas reminds me of of Sweden...he just stands there and looks scary. Although intentionally on his part. XD

You live in Houston too, therefore you are awesome.

[identity profile] kanami-yuuta.livejournal.com 2009-03-13 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL good joke XD....!!!

poor canada's stomach XD but england looks as cute as ever so there's nothing that can be done about it

XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDd

OK and what Natt Barn said - America having kids.... Texas vs. Vermont......... *dies laughing*

[identity profile] sainatsukino.livejournal.com 2009-03-13 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Usually people fly Texas flags instead of US flags

We do that in Quebec, too

well, I guess where there is provinces/states/territories, some kind of lasting grudge is bound to happen...
