[identity profile] bosscookie.livejournal.com 2011-07-04 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm I don't really understand. Is it a trivia contest or something?

I just wonder since it actually costs money to enter haha

[identity profile] bosscookie.livejournal.com 2011-07-05 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah that is what it looks like I was just unsure on entering because the site looks a bit shady to me hahaa.

Oh well, I paid for it anyways. I hope it is a one time thing that you can do throughout those days because I will be without a computer Friday - Sunday!

I'd love too, but i dont feel like making a paypal account, or even paying a dollar (lol cheap me) to answer a tournament i may not even have time for.

Like, do you have to be on at certain points or do you get questions shot at you one after another until you're finished?

Though I DO want Arte Stella, kinda, I wana see the pretty pictures ^^

[identity profile] xxwolfgirlxx.livejournal.com 2011-07-04 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Well its not the dollar i really care about, its the having to make a paypal account. and asking my parents cuz that would be weird if they randomly got an art book from an anime in the mail...and they arent particularly fond of anime.

Well, I'm pretty sure some other company will pick back up Hetalia in the U.S. so I'll get Vol 4 eventually. Just looking online is enough for me for now xD But Arte Stella uuuuurrrrggg who knows if they will be sold here!

I WISH YOU LUCK!!

Hmm. Yeah, it costs .99 to enter. I'm sure the person holding the contests hopes to get enough people to enter so that they make enough for the cost of those items. XD

[identity profile] pinaki93.livejournal.com 2011-07-05 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
Hahaha third place is five dollars...

I dunno, it seems reaaaally good but at the same time kinda fishy. :/
Though I figure many, many of us could get a perfect score xD

[identity profile] timitimi82.livejournal.com 2011-07-05 11:06 am (UTC)(link)
haha yep I know, it is a weird third prize!

I've already paid, and till now everything seems pretty legit..but I dunno. Besides they have more games about Hetalia! I am playing this one to practice before the tournament!

http://www.netgamix.com/game/How+Well+Do+U+Know+England

the Arte Stella will be mine!!! hahahaha

[identity profile] pinaki93.livejournal.com 2011-07-06 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
Hm well since it's only a dollar, it's not really that bad I guess. Unless someone decides to spend more xD

[identity profile] wafflesama.livejournal.com 2011-07-05 08:36 am (UTC)(link)
The site looks kinda fishy. o3o

[identity profile] numbuhp.livejournal.com 2011-07-05 02:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I second this...How do we know that they won't keep access to our paypal or something...?

[identity profile] hoshiko-2000.livejournal.com 2011-07-05 04:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Not wanting to be a party pooper.......I would think carefully before entering. I agree with the people who say that something just doesn't feel right about this. It seems too good to be true.....which generally means something is. Yes, they may not take extra money out of your account (i.e. steal it, but how do we know there IS a prize in the first place? They don't have to identify the 'winner' on their site, and they can just send everyone an email informing them that they 'lost'. In short, this could ultimately be a scam where there is no prize and no winners, which they just cover up by sending people emails to tell them that they didn't win, to make it look official and give them the assumption that they didn't get the prizes because 'someone else' won them.

And true - they wouldn't gain as much money as if they were stealing money from peoples accounts, but considering Hetalia's popularity, and the fact that they are offering limited edition hard-to-find items, they would know they could probably get atleast $200 from entry fees alone. Which, considering the fact that if this IS a scam it is mostly likely the work of amateurs, would probably be well worth the endeveur as far as they are concerned.

What people do is their choice, but please do think very carefully about it, as you could be being had.

Netgamix Tournament

Hi there,

We are the organizers of the tournament from Netgamix. Thanks a lot for the feedback, it will help us make the next tournaments better.

We are not on it for the money, we are trying to create a community around people that loves trivia and manga in particular. This is a skill based tournament, not a raffle, specifically a quiz of 15 questions. This is a promotion because it is our first tournament.

The rankings and score of the users will be totally public and transparent and we will notify the winners on the website and through email. The rules of the tournament are on that page.

If you want any other additional info, please let us know.

Thanks

The Netgamix Team

Hi hoshiko_2000,

We would appreciate also if you can tell us which things made you thought that the tournament was not real.

Thanks a lot

- The fact that Arte Stella is largely sold out, so it seemed odd that you have randomly got a copy of the artbook (and are only doing this 5 months after it's publication)

- The fact that the website, sorry to say it, didn't look overly professional

- The fact that I've seen things just like this before, that WERE scams

- And the fact that if this WAS a scam, it would have been something so easy to pull off

If this is a genuine competition, I really do apologise. But the thing you have got to understand is that I have seen things almost identical to this before, that really were scams. And I've seen people being tricked in to them too. I have an understanding of how these things works, and it would have been so, so easy to pull this off as a scam. So I could not let my concerns about this tornument go unsaid. My main concern, at the end of the day, is the other people in this community. The nice people here deserve a warning that something they are entering in to possibly may not be all that it seems. And I was not the only person who said that this competition seemed suspicous. If this is a genuine competition I am sorry for rousing suspiscion, but I did have reason for it.

Hello hoshiko_2000,

Thanks a lot for the feedback. We understand your concerns, they seem pretty reasonable, this was the first tournament and we are learning a lot. These are the answers:

- One of our members is form Tokyo and she got Arte Stella one week ago. It is a new, unopened copy.

- We are working hard to improve the website. Thanks again

We just want to cover costs with the tournament and get the people to know Netgamix. In exchange for your feedback, we would like to invite you for free to participate in the tournament.

Please send us an email to support@netgamix.com

I don't get it. I can't find the option to start the trivia anywhere.
The link timitimi82 commented above works fine though..
