[News] Voice Actress Cassandra Hodges Passes Away

via animenewsnetwork:

Christopher Ayres posted on his Facebook account today that fellow Funimation voice cast member Cassandra Hodges passed away. Ayres stated a coroner's report has been made but further information regarding the death has yet to be made public. Hodges was only 28 at the time of her death, and she was set to appear at Anime Festival Wichita next week.

Hodges voiced Gotanda and Yuku in Hell Girl and Camembert in Glass Fleet. She also acted in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Hetalia - Axis Powers, and Mushishi, among other Funimation titles.

For those curious, Cassandra voiced additional roles in the English Dub of Hetalia including the little girl / Zashiki-Warashi seen in Episode 30.

Calm down some ok? It's just a comment. Death isn't a rare occurence so don't get all tied up in a knot about it. To be honest I was thinking about "Fight Club" the whole time I was reading your comment >_> Does that make me a bad person?

Everyone deals with things in different ways be it trying to lighten things up a bit or being serious and offended by the former. Both can actually be taken as being rude or inconsiderate.

Cool Beans?

I know, and I'm sorry for getting worked up, but the thing that you have to understand is that there is how YOU meant something, and how OTHERS will interpret it. Other people are not going to understand what you were thinking when you wrote your comment. Whether or not that was how you meant it, it would look to other people like you were trying to make an unfunny joke in light of someones death. Yes, you were just trying to bring light relief, but I didn't know that. To me, it looked like you were joking about a young women's death.

And also, even so, it remains that there are times where it is just unesscessary. And it was mostly the 'at least' part that pissed me off. ''at least' England won't have to see the Zakishi-warashi any more'. Someone's died suddenly, and at a very young age. There's no 'at least' aspect to that, even if you're just saying it lightheartedly.

Very much understandable. Some people do silly things.
