Gakuen Mini-Cushions

Not sure if anyone's posted anything on these yet, but who's excited about the release of the these things?



So cute!
Made by S O F T, they're about 15cmx15cm according to Amiami and there are eight designs covering (typically) the allies and axis.


















So far, they're up in cdjapan, jbox/jlist, amiami and other such hobby shops.
But I think cdjapan has sold out of their pre-order stock.

Any thoughts?

Actually, the only one of these I'm not the fondest of is America's because his pose is a little awkward. And China looks a little round. Other than that, I'm generally fine with the artwork.

Deen seems to have fun with their awkward poses, no? But yeah, even thought I'm not a fan of America, I thought his pose was a little stiff -3-
Aaand... Whitewashing tanned nations confuses me. But I suppose their color pallette perhaps doesn't allow them that flexibility? I dunno...

But I've fallen for the backgrounds mostly. They're so cool *7*
(so much so that I ended up pre ordering three of the cushions. Oh well...)

Side comments:
Chibi Germany's expression looks weird.
Russia.... uh I don't know?
And is it just me, or does grown-up America look too gloomy? O_O

With that pose, America is required to look gloomy it seems...
And yeah, Russia's gakuen chibi is a letdown (seeing as he's one of my fave charries and I collect his merch), but his wistful expression in his torso shot makes me happy for some reason...

Personally, I think Italy and Frances desgins (maybe also England) are the best. And even though I don't like Italy, I might just grab that one too...

xD I panicked at first seeing this, thinking, now I have some reason to be conflicted about the Animate order I was going to place to get the Russia cushion, the LietPol notebook, and volume 4 of the manga. But.

...

AmiAmi's price isn't even 1 yen lower.


If it counts for anything, the 5th this month is Animate's cutoff date for mini-cushion preorders being guaranteed to be filled.

You need to make an account. And the account creation page has a 50/50 chance of letting you through, or crashing. There's another site that has that same programming fault. But once you have an account, you're fine.

The entire Gakuen merchandise line is bound to only use art from the game. xD So. It gets repetitive, but it's exactly what we should expect, too. ;u; It also marks so far only the second set of items with the formal wear chibis. Kind of a rarity, even if the anime chibis are... Creepy.


As for Nekotalia, I'd hope for Japan's tail to be fixed, but in the end... They're keychains. No series ever has high-quality keychain plushies.
