It looks like he's holding up the candies in Hima's photo.

Chibi-Japan <3

[identity profile] fmavatard.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, look at Japan~ What on earth is he holding?

Is this the part where Hima tells us what's up with all the diabetes-inducing updates? Because it's made me paranoid as HELL.

Oh my McDonalds sweet tea... your icon is made of love.

[identity profile] dragonsigma.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
I think Hima's saying his grandma gave him candy. But I'm using Google, so I might be wrong

[identity profile] fmavatard.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
I used Bing and got "Frequently asked Grandma POO candy."

[identity profile] dragonsigma.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
Google says "Be good if my grandma candy"

[identity profile] nameru-ja-nai.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
I laughed way too hard at that.

[identity profile] hikari-kaitou.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
"Candies that old ladies/grandmas often have at their houses". It's actually a reference to a line from the Hetalia Fantasia 2 drama CD when Japan uses such candies to calm down a sobbing America, leading America to muse "I wonder where they buy them anyway". I guess even Japanese grandmas tend to have mysterious candies at their houses, huh? Nice to see that even half way across the world, you can trust old ladies to be consistent with each other XD

[identity profile] zacloud.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 06:24 am (UTC)(link)
This, totally this! I never really knew where my grandma gets her candies, but they're always specific types I could count on to be there when I visited. :3 Wow! Never thought about it till now! XD

[identity profile] wafflesama.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 06:29 am (UTC)(link)
THIS. THIS SO MUCH. xD

[identity profile] lunasilvertail.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
Man, I'm loving the updates.
I wonder what kind of candy that is in his picture. It looks like it's double flavored or something. XD

[identity profile] awww-applesauce.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
I get an error ;___;

The link worked. but I don't see Japan on there... I clicked the link under the picture of candy and it took me to an error. D:

[identity profile] aspen001.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
Oh dear... I can see chibi-Japan right under the candy pic just fine. :/

I'm sorry, I'm sure someone smarter than me will post the pic here soon!

[identity profile] hikari-kaitou.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
He's holding sukonbu, which is a sour Japanese snack made of kelp that's been soaked in black vinegar. Er... yum?

Also, the caption above the photo, as stated in my comment above reads: "Candies that old ladies/grandmas often have at their houses". It's a reference to a line from the Hetalia Fantasia 2 drama CD when Japan uses such candies to calm down a sobbing America, leading America to muse "I wonder where they buy them anyway". I guess even Japanese grandmas tend to have mysterious candies at their houses, huh? Nice to see that even half way across the world, you can trust old ladies to be consistent with each other XD

[identity profile] kisu-fu.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 03:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I ate sukonbu once last summer.. it tastes disgusting at first, but it somehow makes you completely addicted after some time I swear XD

[identity profile] twyxted-mind.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
I said it in the chat and I'll say it again here.

HIMARUYA, WHY SO CUTE?!

[identity profile] llandrin.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
/now wants Japan to give her some candy...

[identity profile] pookie-mookie94.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 05:56 am (UTC)(link)
Gahhh, what's with all this cuteness?
The candy is not helping!

[identity profile] jaseya.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 08:21 am (UTC)(link)
Japan= "Old grandma?" :3

[identity profile] llandrin.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 09:34 am (UTC)(link)
pffft I laughed so hard.

[identity profile] charlzway.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 04:24 pm (UTC)(link)
XD I was thinking the same thing. He does have that coin purse which is generally used by old ladies, yes?

[identity profile] aguzsuicaedere.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 03:05 pm (UTC)(link)
When I become an old lady, I shall have candies too Japan!

[identity profile] cinziamattia.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 04:20 pm (UTC)(link)
wow, they have a lot of foods with kelp in it, even candies

[identity profile] kecen.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Buhyoo. Maybe Japan got the sweet from Yamagata (who I think is a granny type character?).
