Platonic Pairings!

So this was something I was wondering about. We all have our OTPs, and our romantic pairings that we ship. But what about platonic pairings? What characters do you like seeing just being friends? For example, for me, I just LOVE fics about America and Canada being bros. (Hence my icon.) Other groups I'm fond of:

-Japan and America being dorks together
-America and Canada BROING OUT
-The BTT, of course, being friends
-(headcanon time) Germany and Spain being buddies because they're with the Italies respectively
-Hungary and N. Italy going on dates to the bar (more headcanon time!)

I'm sure there are others but I can't think of them atm, those are just the ones on the top of my head. And the ones I love seeing the most. What are your guys's favorite platonic pairings?

I ADORE platonic America-Britain interactions. I really don't ship them romantically at all, but I cannot get enough of them interacting as awkward potential friends.
I also love me some France-Spain bein' bros.

I like Denmark and Norway's relationship to be platonic. Somehow, I see Denmark being very childish at times and Norway being his 'parent'.

Thank you for this post! I don't get involved with romantic shipping that much. I focus much more on platonic relationships of Hetalia. And there are so many!

My favorites include:
Familial relationships between England and America/Canada/Australia/New Zealand (and sometimes Hong Kong)
America and Australia totally being bros. They are bromantically involved in my head!
Brotherly Prussia and Germany, Norway and Iceland. Actually, sibling relationships in general.
Netherlands and Spain~ While I understand the romantic pair-ups, I can just Spain trying his best to be BFF with Netherlands.

And, not sure about the rest of you guys, but the Nordics in general just hanging out together.

America/Canada bromance. I can never go romance with them because they're just such bros in my mind.

I wish there was more of China and Russia being friends. I can't get into the romance ship, but I can totally get behind them being friends.

Same deal with France/England, actually. I can't see romance there, but I love the idea of them having a bitchy, grudging sort of friendship that persists in spite of everything. Sort of like Aziraphale and Crowley from Good Omens, I suppose, except less civil. But that whole, 'You're just enough of a bastard to be worth liking,' that's what I imagine them being like.

I love every flavor of Poland/Hungary, including the friendship variety, so I could always use more of that. Romance is good too, of course.

Actually almost everything I ship romantically, I can also ship platonically.

China/Russia IS my OTP, but it's definitely platonic. It isn't "hot" to me, plus I just prefer them being best buddies.

In a similar way I love platonic UKUS. I normally HATE this pairing because people make nothing but lovey-dovery fanart of it. To me it ruins their lovely older brother-younger brother-relationship.

And finally, DenNor. I love it both as platonic and yaoi...ish. LOL it's just so canon.

I also love England and America brotherly style to. The bad friends trio being their bad friendly selves are also a favorite.

The only popular romantic hetalia pairing I like is HungaryxPrussia actually.

I have a lot of characters that I can see potentially being both romantic (or sexual) and platonic. That's not the case with all of these, though, but it def. is with some of them.

-Poland and Hungary have the cutest friendship ever. I hope we get more of it in canon.
-I really love the various otaku friendships in fanon, be it the Otaku Trio of Japan, France, and America or the doujinka group of Japan, Hungary, and France (and occasionally Taiwan). These guys nerd it up at cons all the damn time. I also REALLY love Japan, England, France, and America in a friend group (maybe with some of them together, maybe not, maybe as one huge orgy idk) with England being the irked odd one out who just glares at the other 3 while they go on and on about cartoons.
-Denmark and Hungary as drinking buddies. I like this idea a lot. Alternatively Denmark and Prussia
-Liechtenstein goes to Poland for advice on dating and picking up girls. (headcanon, Liech really really likes girls. A lot.)
-GERMANY AND AUSTRIA HAVE SUCH A RAD FRIENDSHIP OMFG I love their canon interactions so much
-Hungary and Seychelles' friendship is just pure adorable and I love it.
-Belarus and Hungary! Hungary kinda likes Belarus as a friend despite her creepy but thinks she's a wee bit too obsessed with marriage. She regretted the friendship for a while when she got married to Austria and started getting 3 AM phone calls from Belarus asking questions about weddings and marriage. (I have no idea if this works at all historically, but idgaf, the idea of Belarus giving people phone calls at stupid times of night to ask questions about marriage is too excellent to not support.)
-Fucking love China and Hong Kong's friendship.
-France and Joan of Arc. I kind of loathe this as a romance, ngl, for various reasons that I could tl;dr on forever, but when it's platonic? So beautiful and tragic and sweet.

Also these aren't friendships, but rather awkward relations and enemies whose dynamic I like:
-Austria and China! The walking speed strip cracked me up and I want to see them interact more.
-Austria and Prussia, Prussia and Hungary. idk why, but I really love the antagonistic dynamic that Prussia has with them both and how it varies between the two of them. I love exploring why Prussia's like that with them in my headcanon.

England failing at being an older brother to Sealand. But trying so hard.
Prussia and Hungary being awkward friends. (Mostly on Prussia's part.)
Turkey and TRNC being brothers. (...Yeah, really.)
The micronation trio just being close buddies who have to stick together in the Big Bad World.

And, definitely head!canon here, but Seychelles and Zimbabwe being really close friends. Especially if Zimbabwe is female; then it's even more amazing.

- fatherly/brotherly France with Canada and England with America
- America and Canada (I ship this romantically too, but .. brothers are awesome =D)
- America and China .. for no reason other than I think it's amusing
- BAD TOUCH TRIO like WOAH
- Prussia with like, anyone (but fond spot for Prussia with Germany, and Prussia with Hungary)
- Austria geeking out with anyone about music makes me so happy (mostly Austria with Italy, or Austria with France, but if I could find others ...)

- Liechtenstein and Hungary (side effect of shipping AustroSwiss XD)

I also like France and Canada similarly. As well as Iceland and Norway.
Actually most of the relationships I like are kept platonic.

I'm not much of a fan of pairing in general...But I always thought I was alone! I like series with gay and straight characters, but I'm really not big on pairing them together! (Except once in a great while.) I just stick with canon. I never really meet others who stick to the platonic relationships like I do~

In my own head cannon, Canada and Romano are totally Bros. Just because. And Also, I just have this feeling that Korea is just the type to randomly disarm the security system at America's house and crash there because of the video games.

I think USA and Korea should totally hang out and be awesome together more often. They would and do get along so well. I can imagine America, Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand just hanging out and having fun really easily.

Estonia and Finland hanging out and getting completely sloshed is also a fun one. XD Cuba and Canada are also awesome bros, of course, and I quite like the idea of Holland being such good friends with Japan.

Basically anybody who is related to anyone else, or consider themselves related, I don't ship them romantically. Somehow the only exceptions to this, in my head, are China/Korea and Denmark-Norway. And, of course, Belarus-->Russia, but I don't think that one's going to work out. ^^;
