Attention! Needing some help around here

Ahh okay so I didn't come in with fanart but a question requesting for help.

I recently got into college and am in US History. (Alfred keeps running around in my head...)

ANYWAYS!

There's an extra project worth 50 points! That's like a lot, and history isn't my forte but I am going to try for it. We basically take an era and write a paper OR do something creative with it. I personally asked my Professor if I could make an animation or something and she totally agreed. I even asked which eras had the most nations involved....She listed many but rather that I look some on my own. Durr...

Ummm soo I wanted to make an animation using Hetalia!~~~~~

I'm lame, I know....

I just wanted to see if anyone would like to help me pick a specific era? I am bounded by the timeline of 1492-1865. I'm horrible with years so I don't know what happened when...I'll draw a gift if you want a bribe? OAO;;;;

And, of course, I would do the lovely copyright issues to the lovely mangaka~ And I would post the final stuff on here ahahaha...

So umm..Help please? owo;;;

I dunno, wouldn't the birth of the United States be the easiest to work with? It can be light-hearted or dark depending on how you take it using Alfred.

Or you can do the westward expansion. Oregon Trail using Alfred~!

Too bad you can't do up to the present day. Hippie!Alfred would've been funny. 8D

OOH. You should do the Seven Years' War (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Years%27_War)!

How about the War of 1812 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_of_1812)? I remember my teacher calling it America's coming out party since winning that war was like a message to the other countries that the US could take care of itself.

There's the Civil War too although I'm not sure how that would work out, but it's a broad topic. 1850-1860s (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_United_States_(1849%E2%80%931865)) had a lot of crazy stuff happening.

I think the civil war would be pretty awesome! For my US History project(which I'm...putting off kinda), I'm drawing a short 10 page manga. It's kinda funny so far, because America has a split personality ( the Union and the confederacy) and they don't agree about anything! So Kamachiono, you could probably take that approach...it's just a thought.
Or you could do Christopher Columbus and his discovering the New World...that would be interesting also.

Christopher Columbus founding the New World could actually be interesting since... wasn't Columbus Spanish but commissioned by Portugal? Or... someone? *history!fail*

*Pats cavechan on the back* Chris was Italian, he was under employment w/ Portugal, but ended up jumping boat with Spain. In short, he was from Italy and had little, to no sense of direction...he would love our day and age though.
We have GPS systems.

You're lucky. At least in America, there happened lots of stuff in this timeline! Poor Switzerland was occupied with making cheese the whole time here. *laughs*

Ah well, I was going to suggest the war of 1812 too! It's an interesting one and not thaaat overused in history lessons.

*points* Lies! We were being awesome mercenaries and totally profiting of other people's conflicts! 8D

[identity profile] thrumugnyr.livejournal.com 2008-08-29 05:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Well...true *g* We were smart~
But during THAT era the best thing we did was...the reformation...n stuff *lol* On the other hand, I think that's better than being a war-torn country, no?^^

Well, we waited a little for letting shit hit the fan. We're slowpokes. *high-fives* 8D
Though we got rather trampled in Marignano there...

Do 1812. On top of that, at some point you have to have Al in drag (as Dolly Madison), running out of the burning "White" House with Washington's portrait.
