An Important Message About Wikia [Please Read]

As some of you may have noticed, pages on the Wikia host of the old Hetalia wiki have gone online again. The info on these pages are extremely out of date and full of fanon, and in no way should be considered accurate. It was not the decision of myself or any other editor to restore these pages, but rather a passing anon who decided to report us to the wikia staff.

In the coming days we will be looking for ways to repurpose this wikia (perhaps as a catalog for RPs and LJ/Deviantart Communities? A News Hub? Suggestions are welcome) but we will NOT be moving back to Wikia despite the downtime at ShoutWiki. The Wikia staff have been extremely discourteous and do not listen to their users, and continue to ignore the numerous bugs that are embeded into the new layout skin that they forced us to use back in November. The Shoutwiki staff are currently working to get the site back online and unless their is a major change we will be remaining there. (Also, a move back would require replacing Five Months of Edits. To give you some idea we often have around 200 edits in a single day if not more.)

EDIT: It seems that one of wikia's community leaders, Sarah Manley, believes that our actions are inconsiderate and "hurting the community that has remained at wikia". No one remained at wikia, and she has frequently ignored us and reverted our edits. Now she has threatened to ban myself and Icelilly, the site admin. It's not looking good guys. Icelilly is extremely upset, as she admins a wiki that stayed on wikia called "South Park Fanon" and they could potentially block her from the place she built from the ground up.

It could be cool to use this as a fandom-tracker, kind of like Know Your Meme.

Of course, I'm a dork. But all the same, I think it'd be neat.

Though I'd like to hold onto my community lists, it is your wiki to do what you like.

I think, basically, you're going to want to use it for something you won't mind people messing with, or getting plagued by bugginess, if wikia doesn't work those out.

The idea of a sort of "know your meme" fandom-tracker I actually like. It could be fun. I guess if it's getting too much fanon, you could use it to keep track of fanon, so people would know what's what and where it originated. Like Prussia's 5 meters things, or various shipping terms, etc.

Of course you might also get a lot of random crap in there, but that's already going on, I guess.

One other thing I would be interested in would be something to catalog official merchandise that's been released, which might be a lot of clutter for the regular shoutwiki to include. But I love things like that (because sometimes I run across something I really want @_@), and there could be warnings on how to identify bootlegs. IDK.

It's hard coming up with ideas for something that could be useful/amusing without being something that could easily upset people if tampered with, or something one gets really attached to as a project.

Basically what jammerlea said would be cool, (would a catalog be even possible? If so then that would be all kinds of epic! That way I know what to buy if I ever become rich or something XD)

Same with the "know your meme" stuff, since tvtropes keeps track of a lot of hetalia memes as is, the wikia could explain how they all got there XD

Is it really worth the trouble to mess with then if she's threatening Icelilly? Perhaps instead it'd be a good idea to stand down. Abandon the wikia all together and stick with shoutwiki and promote it as the more accurate one. The main comm and my site link to the shoutwiki one anyway.

Yeah, it sucks to lose like that, but I don't think it's worth the stress if it's going to come to something like that. I'd think it's more important that Icelilly can stay with the wikia she attached to, than worry over one you might not do much with anyway.
