Gakuen Hetalia Site Update
So I thought I'd post this before I sleep:
Otomate just updated their website for the game. Nothing really all that significant, but it does explain the backlog feature, as well as tell you about the Party Modes Friend Diary (or something).
Maybe someone who's more than half-coherant can translate this.
Click on England's flag.
Edit: Also, they updated the cover for the Limited Edition version, as some of you may know. China's flag I believe...
...I definately tagged this incorrectly. Feel free to fix, mods.

DAMN YOU GAKUEN Y U SO EXCITE
Something about people whom you want to be friends with, you will get the profile upon securing enough friendship points.
NEXT THIS ONE I DON'T BELIEVE. There is OMAKE MODE. SHIT I GOT NO DICTIONARY HANG IT ALL. I think there is a certain criteria to obtain this mode, like, gaining all the voices(lines) of the characters. I can't really determine the details, BUT YOU CAN CREATE YOUR OWN SCENES BY CHANGING BACKGROUND AND VOICE AND BACKGROUND MUSIC. There should be a limit to this though cos there are custom lines already, dunno if you can add in your own.
More details after I get hold of my dictionary.

But, oh my god, lol. Editing the background, background music, and voices...
Youtube is going to be spammed with dub overs of everyone's favorite pairing getting it on in the game, I can already see it.

The edit mode will record all backgrounds, music, poses, costumes. But the voices, there is a special way of doing things. To obtain voices, you can play through the game, if there are any lines you find useful, you can hit the backlog, press triangle to record that phrase, and it will be stored in the voice bank. So most definitely there might not be ways to create your own lines, though this game is giving so many surprises I can't say.
Hope this clears things up.^^

But wow! The playback features sound really intricate! I am not a gamer by even the most modest definition of the word, so, maybe that's why I find these aspects of it so impressive. Still, the fact that you can edit so much and even saving voices alone even if you can't -possibly- make your own is still quite cool.

Ah, if I remember right, a post last mentioned that there were two story modes you could choose from. One, you play as Seychelles and get a friendship end with one of the characters (love heroine route), or Two, you are sort of a matchmaker and make two of the other characters become friends. (:

CANKRAINECANKRAINECANKRA- Wait, Ukriane isn't even in this game, is she? *sadface*no subject
Unfortunately, she is not. ;-; It would be cool if she was an unlockable character, but I doubt it...

But I'll edit the post anyway. :3

Generally for games in this genre, they make many Drama CD's for the series, or at least for the games they're sure are going to be popular
Hakuouki is still going... o.o;.Hetalia's pone of those huge fanbases. You really can't go wrong there. People are going to buy those CD's, and the company is going to get rich while we fangirl.

But I guess I'll manage with what I have.

In all seriousness, though. I didn't really like the original cover because the characters looked...off. The limited edition cover is just them with a few edited items and clothing. The sparkly background looks nice, I guess.
That said, the game does seem to have a few unique functions and extras. Judging for what they've revealed, I wouldn't call any of them breakthroughs (they could even turn out to be utterly useless and only there to make the game seem revolutionary or awesome), but I want to try 'em out. I wonder how Famitsu will grade this one...Unless they don't normally review these things. While I consider myself a gamer, I don't really delve much into the anime/manga/film/comics video games unless it involves super heroes. So, I don't know if Famitsu does anything with games based off of media such as Hetalia.
