And yes, in the beginning Italian tanks were lightweights, then they moved to mediumweight and when they finally became heavvy, WW2 was nearly finished... -_-
The idea was to make them fast, using as a base the English tanks... I guess as a start it wasn't bad but by the time WW2 came around it really needed to be updated... but for assorted reasons they decided to do it only when it was too late... -_-

The Italian tank is just like whoa...lol.

It's a Fiat 2000 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_2000), basically one of the first, if not the first, Italian tanks, also nicknamed the "heaviest World War I tank", which is kind of fun because, althought being done to take part into WW1, by the time it was ready, WW1 was basically finished... -_- (also it seems there was a German tank that was heavvier...)
The most interesting feature was the rotating turret (at the time it seems only French tanks had it).
It completely disappeared in 1936 (it seems the last existing exemplar was used as monument... ^_^) and apparently it was used only once in 1919 in Tripolitania...
