Lesser Known Nations

Sorry for the silly (and probably dumb) question, but I'm having some trouble finding a list (and designs) of some of the lesser known nations. I've largely been out of the Hetalia loop for about half a year, so there are some new characters I cannot find/am not even sure if they're canon (Macau? New Zealand?) and probably some older ones that no one remembers (basically: all of Africa minus Egypt and Seychelles, some random Eastern Europe and Asian countries...).

The Hetalia wikis seem rather out of date. I can't find newer characters like the the new South Asian ones that were introduced alongside Portugal... Already I can't remember their names.

Any help? In short I'd just like someone to tell me the lesser known/new nations with canon designs. :'D

Hmm, let's see!

First, we're not quite sure if that new Asian country's actually Macau. It could be Mongolia, who hasn't been seen in a long time. Himaruya hasn't really clarified who it is. I'm not sure if the wiki or TVTropes should be listing them so soon as "Macau" unless Himaruya gives us a clue.

New Zealand: canon, but we don't know hir gender. They showed up in the Christmas event and a recent sketch, as well as the world map in Volume 3.

The African Nations: We actually shouldn't have the Kenya and Zimbabwe tags, since the Africa Class designs weren't actually them, but they kind of stuck around XD (it's kind of a shame since those designs of the girls were pretty too, leaving the lightness of some aside). Kenya, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Uganda, and Botswana have not been seen outside their chibi heads in the GakuHeta demo. Ethiopia, Guinea-Bissau, Cabinda, Congo, and Sahara also got brief lines, but no faces. Himaruya had originally planned to put Ethiopia and Libya in the comic, but never got to it, and it's likely understandable why.

There was a random unidentified female African nation that appeared in a sketch with France, but Himaruya never clarified who she was supposed to be.

Indonesia and Malaysia: "designs" were actually just doodles of people he met from those countries, Indonesia's sheet did have two chibi head scribbles of possible designs though (one was a spiky-haired boy, the other was a girl with a bun and flower in her hair).

There are the German states/former German kingdoms that have been mentioned, and there are a few with designs: Saxony, Bavaria, and some that appear in the old webcomic version of "Chibitalia" and in a German Confederation sketch.

Himaruya's also shown a Moldova in one strip, but their design is very vague. China's provinces, municipalities, and regions are also canon characters, but don't expect him to design every one of them since there are so many. Japan's prefectures also have characters.

As for anyone else, there's a "Wallachia" in volume 3 but they're obscured by their cloak. It could be a little!Romania, or their ancestor, depending on what Himaruya's own headcanon is. Same thing goes with Golden Horde and their relation to Mongolia.

Portugal has no set design yet, they could be a guy that looks like a long-haired Spain (with a scar too), a long-haired woman, a short-haired woman with a scar on her face, or a red-haired guy with a scar. Luxembourg hasn't had his final design released, but Himaruya intends for him to be male with short, wavy-ish hair from the little faceless draft he showed.

No, no, we know New Zealand's gender. Himaruya was doing requests not too long ago, and one of them was the question, 'What is New Zealand's age?' and there is a picture(non-chibi)of New Zealand, saying, 'What do you think?'
It looked...It was obviously a guy. Just a really adorable guy. xD

The African designs were concept art for the school uniforms. While it isn't at all unlikely that they actually are the real characters, within the game we were never given any more than simplistic SD heads, and Himaruya never confirmed anything else. Furthermore, the heads don't really resemble the full-body images much.

It was confirmed that they weren't designs. Shortly after the post, the translation error was realized; they were simply people Himaruya had encountered from those nation. A basic outline of Luxembourg's head was provided in a later post, as well as a multitude of possible Portugal, though we haven't heard anything since.

Moldova was a small SD sketch on a rather simplistic map that included Hungary and Austria. It's from the strip "In Just 2 Minutes You Can Grasp the Exterior of the European Economy." You can find it here, close to the bottom:

China's provinces haven't physically appeared. In a omake illustration after the Christmas Bloodbath 2010, China receives texts from the provinces after Hong Kong sent them pictures of China in a woman's wear. For Tibet and a small image of Mongolia, check this strip; http://aph.starry-sky.com/c_n0.html (Mongolia is the one with the bow).

For more images, try the Shout Wiki. It's still going through some renovations, but some images have been added.

oh man I should've checked!

You beat me to it XD. I'll delete my post since you explained it well, hehe.

Uhm, a while ago someone also asked for Chibi slavic characters. They're probably not final, but they have appeared.

Also, there's Cameroon, Kenya...
Monaco isn't very well known...

There's also Tibet, that's appeared occasionally, and Saxony and Bavaria, I believe, appeared in chibi-form during the story of The Austrian Succession. Another panel, telling about the German Unification, showed all the German brothers, minus Germany, together, with Austria standing nearby. So that'd be Holstein, Hesse, Saxony, Bavaria, Prussia, and possibly more.

The Hutt River was mentioned shortly, although that's a Principality in Australia, rather than a country.

Japan has Osaka, who's appeared throughout the Christmas Event, and in the Isolationist!Japan strip.

Pfft, I love your icon. <3<3

Ah, I can't find the actual post that they were in, but it was a request someone asked for, and Hima drew them. I saved the picture when I saw it...

It was a while ago that it happened, so. The one at the right kinda looks like Switzerland, though, doesn't it? Hn.

Ah, Monaco, I'm a bit lazy to search for, since she's already been in quite a few places. She has a lot of cameos, I'm sure she has a tag on here.

And maybe I shouldn't have mentioned Hutt River? He/she has only had a small mention in Wy's lil character card. But yes, I love the micronations. >w< They're so adorbale!
