I found the perfect accessory for your cosplay that is cheap, adorable (AFFORDABLE) and perfectly shaped to ride without slipping on top of your head (Or hat):

It's actually much CUTER in person. The picture does not do it justice.
The Perfect Hanatamago.
Total plus shipping in the US was $18.95 for me and I squeed when I opened her today.
PERFECT SIZE, perfect shape for your Hanatamago needs.
I thought I would share my luck in scoring this cutie-pie with others who are looking for the same thing.

Also, HI. I remember you from a billion years ago on gaia. (I didn't win your 'make an uke for my dude' contest.) It's a small internet.

And Small internet indeed. I haven't been on GAIA in god 6 years at least. I'm sure my account is dead.
I'd be happy to draw you a picture now to make up for the ancient loss and as a thanks for the mad giggles at the con. ;)

I'm sorry to hear about the medical stuff. That's got to be rough to have to deal with on a "normal time" basis, much less all the chaos of a con. @___@ I'm going to guess (hope?) you're doing better now, since you don't have to take that anymore? Medication side effects are pretty scary stuff, IMO. My dad takes stuff for an irregular heartbeat that basically makes him really, really disoriented, so he can only take them before going to bed at night... When he first had that reaction (...after randomly deciding to take his pills in the middle of the day), we had no idea what was going on and thought he was having a stroke. Turned out not to be the case, but wow... With some medication it seems like the side effects it creates are worse than the symptoms it treats...
I logged into gaia a couple weeks ago so I could give my old junk to a friend who still uses the site and my stuff was all there (I haven't been there in probably as long as you haven't), but so is all the stuff I didn't care for before, and now there's MORE of it. Now you can have status updates and journals and pimp your car and and and. Ugh. I was more interested in discussing arty things than any of the whatever gizmos and fishing whosits they have on there. It reminded me why I lost interest in the site, heh.
That would be totally awesome of you. Thanks! :] (as far as that goes, we could do a trade, too! I've got art over at http://belligerent.deviantart.com but I need to update it and definitely need to draw more stuff to put up there...) I'll think about what I might like to see drawn and probably note it to you tomorrow afternoon, since it's past midnight here on the beast coast and I get up at 5 for work (and I'm too braindead to think in pictures right now, and barely can think in words... X_x;;).

It's why I love him so much.
-----------------------------------
"If only I were taller... Or uh, actually a dude."
It's why I want to cosplay him, I *AM* freaking tall. (Not a dude but I have no tits either so good enough for cosplaying dudes.) I'm 6 feet tall and for a chick that really sucks *EXCEPT* when you want to cosplay tall men then it's wonderful. But I have to give Berwald only one day, since I also totally dig perverts (like they seriously trip my trigger) so you're also getting a Tall Francis next con too. I just want to grope random people and get away with it frankly. Hell I hold an MST PORN PARTY in my room every year for the past 10 cons, I freaking am Francis. I own a crapload of terrible, horrible, insane gay porn that I show to a room full of of viewers every year, you'll have to come to the next one. ;) (It's a really good thing I have a BI hubby who likes Yaoi and Gay pr0n as much as I do, it makes shopping so much fun!)
-------------------------------------------
You have my sympathy for your dad. My dad has congestive heartfailure and atrial fibrilation troubles. So bad it's to the point we moved my parents into our basement (It's like a three bedroom apartment down there.) So I can be here 24/7 with him :just in case". I'm not the healthiest person on the planet either, but I don't have heart problems thankfully. I can call 911 if he's having a heart attack.
The medication I was on was some killer pain meds. One in pill form one I wore as a patch. I was tripping pretty much the entire convention. I really should *NOT* have gone. But thankfully my troubles gave me a five day holiday inbetween hospital trips.
I'm on an upswing recently (thank goodness.) Been out of the hospital just over a month now. I'm on a new medication I have to get from England cause it's not available in the USA, but it's working slowly but surely. I'm not dropping weight insanely anymore. (I lost 55 pounds in less than 2 months. Yeah, that fast. I've lost about another 15 pounds since Yaoi-con but I'm not losing it anymore thanks to the pills, it's making life easier. I can eat a few things again which is nice. It's a long story, in a nutshell I have bad horrible Diabetes, it just about made my entire stomach nerve damaged. 2 major, MAJOR surgeries later, my tummy was the size of a GOLF BALL, it made the nerve damage WORSE not better, so I couldn't eat anything and was living in the hospital on feeding tubes. I had JUST got out right before the con, lived on crakers a couple of weeks, and then right back in again. It was a mess. New meds though I'm loving. Thank you ENGLAND for making this drug. TMI right?

Next topic... and art trade sounds AWESOME! I just dev watched you over on DA. (Same username fablespinner). We can note each other there. I'm totally happy with Berwald being sexy frankly. I'm so not picky at all, have fun with it. You draw an awesome Berwald. ***DROOOOOOL***

I'll have Sweden cosplay with me and also probably Austria and Liet at that point. Sweden's actually my first cosplay (some friends got me into it at Otakon); ycon was the third time I'd done it. I don't really want to branch out TOO much because not many people cosplay him (often I'm the only one at shoots...), and apparently I do the character well, and he IS my favorite. So it's kind of a "if I don't do it, who's going to?" I may try to put together a more accurate coat, though. We'll see. Right now I'm working on an Austria jacket for Katsucon, and hopefully they won't revoke my sewing permit after this.
-------
All that medical stuff sounds insane, and I'm glad to hear you're on an upswing. My dad's mom had diabetes and it certainly didn't do her any favors (of course, she was also an alcoholic, which didn't do her diabetes any favors...), but she also didn't really attempt to manage it well or acknowledge that she couldn't eat and drink whatever she felt like, although it may have been a cultural/language thing, too (she was Lithuanian). It seems like a really hellish disease, in my limited, secondhand experience with it.
-------
I drew you a sexy pic of Berwald ( http://i1018.photobucket.com/albums/af308/eightyproofmonk/nicetie.jpg I'll put it on dA at some point; I'm happy with how it came out, since it's the best thing I've drawn in a while), but I'm still not sure what I want, heh, since I'm not used to people drawing stuff for me. @___@ I thiiink I'll ask you to draw my mafia AU RP version of Berwald (which is basically normal Berwald in a 3-piece suit [the waistcoat is the important part], with a jagged scar from a unsuccessful garrote assassination attempt encircling his throat/neck, and looking extra creepy because he's a lawyer).

-------------------------------
Yeah diabetes = NO FUN. Mine I do everything *RIGHT* but I am so terribly, insanely insulin resistant we had to take drastic measures and it got complicated.
------------
Pardon me while I MASS MY KEYBOARD aweqjskdjaoweoieurhieurheuriwer Unnnnnnnnnnnnnn. Oh that is HAWT! *drool* I love that he's tied up with his own freaking necktie. LOL! You know it was Denmark. Sweden looks too pissed for it to have been Finland's doing. ;)
A question on your RPG Berwald. What era Mafia? 1920s Chicago, St. Valentine's Day Massacre Al Capone stuff? That will help me with the clothes. I have an AWESOME reference book here, "The History of Western Fashion" it's a completely illustrated book that goes from BC Era Togas all the way through to about 1995 AD (Modern era) it's the best book in my library for researching historically accurate clothing.
I'll get started on it ASAP once I know the right decade/era. xoxoxox

My dad's got "pre-diabetes," so hopefully it won't progress past that. And skips me and my brother, since it doesn't sound like a lot of fun. Hopefully you've got the complicated part past you now.
---
Haha, I'm glad you like it. I'm happy with how it came out; I think it captures, uhm, defiance, which is sexy on him. And it could have been Denmark (I ship him with Sweden, too, although I think SuFin is cuter and probably a much healthier relationship...). I think he could probably break loose if he had a mind to, so he's probably not as pissed as he looks, whoever did it. I like the idea of somebody tying him up with his own tie, though. Makes you wonder how they managed to do that without him noticing or fighting back.
The RPG is set in modern times, actually. The Nordic portion of the game isn't perhaps as much "mafia" as it is a corporation/monopoly with very questionable policies and contacts. Berwald is basically head legal adviser (and he has a lot of political contacts, too), since he's mostly retired from active courtroom appearances due to his throat injury leaving him a lot less eloquent than he used to be. He pulls strings and makes sure that if something the company does isn't exactly legal, the law is looking the other way. Usually I think of him as wearing a 3-button (since he's tall) suit, dark grey or sometimes black, with a vest and tie. If he doesn't have the jacket on, he usually has the sleeves rolled to the elbows. Sometimes he'll wear a dark grey trenchcoat over it, if it's cold or rainy.
That book sounds pretty amazing. Familiar, too. I think a friend of mine may have had it and scanned pages of a specific couple of things for me a loooong time ago.

And this is the Book: http://www.amazon.com/Chronicle-Western-Fashion-John-Peacock/dp/0810939533/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1294568461&sr=8-4
Great reference. A GREAT PRICE USED Under $5.
Whereabout are you East Coast? I'm EST myself. Not quite coastal though. I'm in Kentucky, there are no cons ever close to me. I save up and Fly to Yaoi-con once a year. ;) I used to live in Cali and drove to y-con. I miss living close, but I missed SEASONS and FRESH AIR more. (I was born out this way and well I got re-married and HE lived here so I moved back.) LOL.

Let me know if this was what you had in mind and I'll finish it up. (I figured I'd ask while it's still in a stage I can tweak it easily! Sorry it took all day, I ended up taking a much needed NAP, I was not feeling well today. ;) )

But I'm underage and I can't order anything from other countries, bawww : <
And my parents wouldn't spend money on plushies... *cries*
Oh well. Thanks for sharing the link anyway!
