World Hetalia Day 2010: Birmingham, AL (FINAL UPDATE)
Okay guys, I just wanted to make one final update for our Hetalia Day, to make sure that everyone knows what is going on.
LOCATION: Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, AL (Website is www.alapark.com/oakmountain/ for directions.)
TIME: As the park closes at sundown each night (6 PM) I've decided to bump the meeting time from 2 PM to 1 PM on Sunday, October 24th, 2010.
COST: It's $3 to get into the park, and if everyone could bring at least $3 with them to help pay for the pavilion we're hoping to rent, that would be so helpful!!!
ALSO: Seeing as how the park closes rather early, Denmark and I have decided that if you want to hang out a bit longer, we'll head up to the Brunswick Riverview Bowling Lanes (Directions at the bottom of the page). Denmark and Korea have coupons for up to 6 people each, and those 12 people will need only to bring $5 to help pay (cost covers bowling and shoes). For anyone else, it'll be $4 for bowling and $4 for shoe rental.
REMINDERS:
- Don't forget to bring a dish or snack to share with everyone, from the country you're representing, if possible!
- Bring any kind of games you want!
- If possible, bring lawn chairs or blankets.
- The weather is looking phenomenal for Sunday, so as of right now, there is no rain date location.
- If any of you guys have Facebook, please, please, PLEASE RSVP there so I can have a clearer headcount of who all is coming! (I know most of you guys have already, but just in case, our Facebook event page is here: www.facebook.com/event.php )
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:
Let me tell you guys, our group has gotten together plenty of great ideas to make our Hetalia Day awesome, and I couldn't have possibly pulled this all together without their help and support. You guys ROCK!
So without further adieu, let me tell you all of the ideas, games, and activities we've planned!
GAMES:
- Pin the Eyebrows on England (I thought of this for my last Hetalia Day up in Pennsylvania, and thought it would be amazing to bring it back for my new Alabama group!)
- Apples to Apples (hopefully this is going to work out. We have Korea looking for it at her house.)
- Risk (Again, a maybe. Hopefully someone has it and can bring it?)
- Twister
DANCING:
I'm bringing either my iPod or my computer, and I'm pretty sure Denmark is bringing her speakers, so we can dance to our favorite anime tunes like Hare Hare Yukai, Lucky Star, Caramelldansen, and maybe even learn some new dances too! (This America can't dance worth a hoot, so I'd love to learn! XD)
FOOD:
So far, we have food coming from several different countries!
Spain (Churros)
Great Britain (Sticky Toffee Pudding and Scones (ew. xD))
Denmark (Danish cookies)
The United States (I'm bringing our cake, and possibly pizza if money allows it.)
China (Fried Rice)
Russia (unknown)
Korea (Some sort of Korean sweet...I forget what it was now. xD)
Italy (unknown)
Germany (unknown)
NOTE: If someone could help me out by bringing paper plates, plastic utensils, and cups, then I'd be grateful. Also, I'll be bringing sodas, and I'm sure my England is bringing some tea, but other than that, if anyone can bring drinks as well, that would be so great!!!!!
DIRECTIONS:
From Oak Mountain to Brunswick Riverview Lanes:
9.
I believe that is it, so yeah! RSVP here or on our Facebook page, and get ready for a day of fun and celebrating world peace! :D Can't wait to see you all there!

As far as I know, Italy's planning on bringing us pasta.
AND, America, you and England, when you come visit me tomorrow, I'm gonna stop by the grocery store on the way back after I've picked you up or something and pick up some stuff and we can experiment with this way that my mom told me to make the churros. It'll be like... a jillion times easier than what I was planning and I want you guys to be with me and let me know what you think of how they turn out. &hearts
