I am actually not the founder of the community, and she does not list France or Monaco, but you can include those characters if paired with another Mediterranean nation (we're going for more Mediterranean cultures)

Don't get me wrong, I entirely trust you to not have founded the comm or created the rules, but I don't really understand the logic of it. France isn't just about Paris and his mediterranean coast is quite large and important for the country, so to say that the mediterranean culture is not strong enough within those regions is just... what. While Monaco probably couldn't be any more mediterranean unless she becomes an island... I guess?

Like I said, I'm not trying to start wank or anything, I'm just honestly confused by your argument.

The community was created before Monaco was revealed, and to be honest I didn't know where the country is geographically.

And the Hetalia persona of France is more obsessed with his beloved Paris. Certainly if I was the one who made the rules I would have him included, but I didn't and I don't want to cause any trouble with the mods.

Would it make you feel better if I included those tags in my post?

Yeah, that's what I guessed with Monaco, she hasn't been around for a long time indeed. Although I disagree about France, or at least I don't remember it being confirmed in canon anywhere that he's obsessed with Paris in particular so... fanon headcanon? Or has it? Would imho still not be fair.

It's like you want, really, it's not about me 'feeling better', just about me 'being confused'. But I guess it doesn't make much sense to add the tags if they might be excluded from the exchange.

The canon evidence would be his character songs. Paris is Splendid Indeed doesn't really have many alternative interpretations.

It's not as if they'll be excluded from the exchange, either. If a person makes a request for France, I'm not going to take it out. But the fear is that someone will request FrUK or the like, which 9 times out of 10 has nothing to do with the Mediterranean region and will be out of place in the community. We want to bring more attention to characters like Turkey, Greece, Egypt, etc. who don't get very much of it in fandom, and to show the relations between countries in this part of the world.

Uuuuh, ok. (Not saying that he doesn't care for Paris at all of course, but that doesn't mean he dismisses the rest of his country because of that one line, or is there more evidence that I ignore?)

And yeah, I can understand that you don't want the comm being flooded by FrUk or Franada, but now I'm confused as to how this would be different from GiriPan for example? And if it's about the less popular characters, why are Spain (who is only partly mediterranean too) and the Italies in as well? Wouldn't it be simple enough to just add a note that the fic should focus on the Mediterranean instead? Or the Eastern Mediterranean of it's more about Greece & Co? *headscratch* (And yeah, I know you're not the one to make the rules.)
...and why am I even arguing about this? I'm not a France fan in particular I'm just living there and one of his citizens... half of me at least, I was simply confused as to whether it was geographical fail that he (or Monaco) weren't included, or whether there was any deeper reason to this besides simply not liking him. And got even more confused by your reasons. Doesn't really matter I guess.
