America is scared to do anything diplomatically that might hurt its image more. But that's why the E.U. is there. France is the one mediating the issue right now. I actually think it's a really good shift in power for Europe to manage things in Europe and take that pressure off America (I mean, the world wars were what dragged America onto the international stage and eventually made it a busybody anyways)

I highly doubt Washington cares about it's world image all that much, the main concern would be our current lack of ground forces and frankly just not being in a good place right now economically to handle another war.

Hahaha 'mediate' with Russia. Because Russia is good at keeping their promises and doing what it's told?
