Question about profiles
I was taking a look at profiles tag online last night and I noticed that in 2008, supermod!
youkofujima, had posted ones that Himaruya Hidekaz did I believe in 2006. Did he decided to redo the profiles now that the anime and manga have become popular?

As an artist, he probably looked back on the old profile drawings and felt like his art style/characters had evolved enough that he wanted to remake them. Hidekaz now knows his characters better, and wanted to share them properly with the world---because lets be honest, the old profiles were rather dated in terms of character designs now. America had boots with the fur [with the fur!] in his old profile, for example, despite him not being drawn with them at all recently.

a) I want to update my art.
b) I have lots of new characters now, and they should get profiles. But it would be odd if I didn't update the older profiles too.

The first set were done in 2006, but they only included the Axis and Allies. The Axis ones were only available in a flash video (now deleted from the site), while the Allied Forces ones were .jpg files. The Axis ones were also not "chibi" profiles, so I'm not sure he ever used the original Axis chibis he made for anything. Maybe he planned to, but abandoned the idea.
The second set was for 2007, and included all the characters that had those original profiles that Youkofujima translated. He took them off-site sometime in 2008 though, if the Bamboo blog is an indication. We then got those sketchy "simplified" headshot profiles to go along with volume 2 (though volume 2's versions were inked and looked a lot cleaner).
I would have thought the mass of chibis that he drew last year were for new profiles, but it seems they were for marketing purposes and have only appeared in Comic Birz layouts and special cards for the magazine. There was a Bamboo post where he showed a screenshot of a test Flash video for a profile section (with flags at the bottom to click on, for each character), but that idea must have been scrapped for this one. So to sum up, this would be the fourth set of profiles and the first "chibi" ones in a while!
