Hetalia Day 2010 Alabama Meetup?

Hey guys! I'm really looking forward to this year's Hetalia Day, but as I'm not living in Pennsylvania anymore (I went to the Lancaster, PA meetup last year) I was wondering if anyone had planned a meetup in central Alabama (my new location) for this year. If not, perhaps my Iggy and I can try planning something.... Anyways, feedback is appreciated! :3

Okay! So it seems that we've found a LOT of you guys in our area, and we're definitely going to have to plan something before Hetalia Day just for fun! :D If you guys wanna private message me your Facebooks or anything like that, feel free so that we can plan accordingly. I really hope this works out! <3

fffffffffffffffff

just as I find someone in AL I move to Georgia. OHWELL I MIGHT STILL COME.

Where are you in AL and where were you thinking of having the meet?

Ah. I live in a suburb of Birmingham, although I'm about to start college over at Georgia Tech. I can still find an excuse to come home for Hetalia day though, as long as it's not too ridiculously far away. If you need any help with locations in that area, I can assist :)

:|a Birmingham? Or Tuscaloosa? Or somewhere smaller?

Clanton. Close enough to Birmingham. XD

Bwahaha. I think I've driven through there before. Uhm. Welcome to Alabama!

Hmmm... I've never been to one of these things. A meeting, whatever. So I'll probably decline on that principle along with my general lack of funds, the fact I don't cosplay, and having to make up an excuse for why I'm traveling so that my family doesn't panic and call the police that perverts from the internet are kidnapping me. :|a

Awesome, more Hetalia fans in Alabama! I'm in Birmingham. I think my best friend and I might be interested in going if there ends up being a meet-up!

I'm in Hoover, but I live up in Montevallo (where I go to college) during the school year. Still not very far. :D

There are actually more than you'd think! Last semester, I drew a doodle of the Italy bros on the whiteboard on my dorm door, and by the end of the week, it was full of drawings of Hetalia characters done by several different people I'd never even met! It was amazing!

Definitely let me know, then! BTW, I saw you mention AWA to [livejournal.com profile] hotbabysitter. I heard there might be a Hetalia cosplayers meet-up. Have you heard anything? *doesn't want to miss it*

I'm in Birmingham and I would recommend the Botanical Gardens. They are free and have a lovely and spacious Japanese Garden. Other good cosplay spots are Sloss Furnaces in downtown Birmingham. It's an old steel furnace that has a lot of architectural shots and makes for a nice meetup and photography place. Sloss is also free and open to the public to walk around in.

Good days to meet up would be anytime, but if you wanted to coincide with an event, the Cherry Blossom Festival is every March at the Gardens and there's also Kami-Con at University of Tuscaloosa in April.

If any of y'all currently go to University of Montevallo, please message me. Omg Alabama Hetalia fans *squee*

I will second the notion that the botanical gardens and Sloss would be great places. Not to mention the zoo is near the gardens. Another place of interest near the gardens is the fountain in front of the church at Five Points.

You also need at least one picture of everyone pointing and laughing at the big nude butt in the sky. It is an Italian butt, no da.

I'm in Birmingham too! The botanical gardens are amazing~
I totally drive by Clanton on my way to Florida to see my Nana. Isn't that the place with the giant peach?

I'm totally interested in meeting up!

Uhm....When is hetalia day? XD XD XD

Great. For almost 26 years, I lived in Childersburg (when I wasn't away at school); and nothing anime related ever happened. I move away; and everyone wants to hook up in Birmingham. (Which was only about 30 minutes away.) Now I am down near Mobile; and too far away to come join you. Bakura-kitty sad now.
