[MEET] Hetalia fans and cosplayers in Richmond, VA (final update for Maymont)

Here's another update regarding the Maymont meet-up this coming Saturday in Richmond, Virginia.  More details about the meet were discussed in the previous post to this community: http://community.livejournal.com/hetalia/6196073.html

But we may have a slight issue...
According to the great Weather.com it's supposed to rain on Saturday.

So now we have three options.
1) Go on with the plan to meet up at Maymont and then see if it actually does rain and if it does either duke it out with umbrellas or relocate
2) Meet at a restaurant instead (or somewhere else inside?)
3) Reschedule

The only other thing I have to say about Option 1 is that those of us who are cosplaying (me, my friends, and some other people) might want to avoid water & mud because it might damage our costumes, but I'm prepared to fight if that's what everyone wants to do.

Option 2 requires a bit more detail:
If we decide to meet up at a restaurant we'll need to decide which restaurant and I'll need to make reservations.  I'd also need a head count.  Or, if you prefer (ahaha...) we could just meet at a McDonald's or something.  (I'd much prefer the first option, but it's up to the majority.)  And I guess we could meet somewhere other than a restaurant, but I have no ideas except say, a mall.

Option 3 does too:
If we decide to reschedule, I'd prefer we did it on a day before the 17th of March because that's when my friend, who is hoping to attend, leaves.  But if there is a majority vote for a day past that I'll most likely go along with it because this meet should be convenient for all of us.

Another note -- Keep in mind that this isn't the only meet we'll ever have, so we can always go to a restaurant this time and meet up at Maymont at a later date.
Discuss!  And quick, because I need to have a plan of action soon.

(copy-pasta'd from Facebook woo~)

Personally, I think it could be a good idea to meet up in a museum of some sort - depending, it might not cost as much as heading to a restaurant. The problem there would be that most museums aren't free, either... which seemed like a big part of the appeal of Maymont. I'd suggest the Science Museum, but I have a personal attachment to that particular museum. xD; My mother suggested the Holocaust Museum, but I am thinking that considering our attire... that could be very, very tasteless... My brother suggested a book store (Barnes and Noble, likely, because of the coffee and things) but I can't see a group of Hetalia fans staying quiet enough to be allowed in the building for long...! XD

There's a nice nature center at Three Lakes park, but it's not that big and I'm not sure how well the staff would tolerate us.

As malls go... it's actually incredibly fun to go to the mall in cosplay, if you don't mind a few weird looks and a lot of questions (or maybe this is just where I live - people are chatty, we've got a small-town vibe goin' on).

And as rescheduling goes, it looks like there's a 30% chance of rain on the 14th, 40% on the 15th, 10% on Tuesday and 20% on Monday... (I'm sure you knew this) which makes me wonder if Virginia planned things this way on purpose. I wouldn't put it past her. XD

I would be one of the people going in cosplay but still willing to rough it out in Maymont. And there are paths and walkways and things, so we could always stay on those... wouldn't be very muddy.

Unfortunately, I am very chatty but don't actually have strong opinions about anything, so in the end all I really have to say is I'm up for anything. >_>;;

As for me I am better at going to Maymont and roughing it out. Sadly as you said people with Cosplay will not like this. Another issue my mom will be taking me would not like me out in the rain. Maybe renting out a room in a Library could be a suggestion. As for the restraunt well.... im not sure. With the mall aspect it's fine by me.
