Hey Hey!
Hey guys! Well Im new to joining the livejournal Hetalia community but definitly not new to Hetalia OR this community. Ive been watching and reading both Hetalia and the group for as long as I remember ^_< I just couldnt put off getting an account so here I am.
I had a few questions I wanted to ask since Im already posting,
1) We all know America's glasses are named Texas. He got em somewhere around the war with Mexico but does anyoen know if its actually shown somewhere? is there a specific scanlation with Texas?
2) and another thing Im sure everyone knows "Iggy" is America's nickname for England. Again, is it shown somewhere or did this lil' cute nickname just pop up somewhere and we've all just grown to love and cherish it?

But I suspect that the nickname "Iggy" came from England's Japanese name, "Igirisu," though I don't know for certain.

And I think to get the point across, that America was being all cutesy and childish, by making it Iggy which is the English equivalent(?) for baby talk...
Or I could be wrong

2) Iggy is the nickname the Japanese fans used. It's short from Igirisu (United Kingdom in Japan). As a nod to that Hidekaz has a comic entitled Iggy Iggy Annoyance. America using it as a nickname is just popular fanon used by the western fans.

It's United Kingdom.

2) I don't know if it's shown anywhere, but it's because Iggy is short for Igirisu, which is England in Japanese, if I'm correct.

2) "Iggy" does come from "Igirisu", which is Japanese for England.

2) France called England that in the Christmas Bloodbath. Don't know how America got a hold of it...

2. There's a comic called 'Iggy Iggy Annoyance' but it doesn't revolve around America in the least. In my mind America calls England Iggy because Himaruya drew a picture of England in America's coat and the photourl was 'Ameriggi'

2. No one has called England Iggy in canon except for France.
There was also one strip entitled "Iggy-Iggy Annoyance."
But America has never used that nickname.
Boy I'm late ;_;

Like epicfail1211 said, no one in the series has ever called England Iggy save for France. "Iggy-Iggy Annoyance" is a name for one of the strips though. So if you read a fanfic/comic/art that has America calling England Iggy, it's more or less inaccurate fandom-wise. If anything it should be France calling him so, but instead the (western?) fandom France calls him Angleterre.
I've asked the question regarding France before: http://community.livejournal.com/hetalia/5591546.html Here I wanted to clarify if America once called him thus in case I missed something. Feel free to go through it.
