Confirmation of Petition

Apparently the rumors about a petition in Korea to cancel the Hetalia anime are true:

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2009-01-13/korean-protests-call-for-hetalia-anime-cancellation

No plans to cancel it as of yet. Interestingly enough, there were never plans for Korea to be in the anime.

Thanks for those. I probably wouldn't be so fussy is something like those were linked rather than ANN? oh well, I shouldn't let THIS bother me so much, right?

I don't think most people could read this, and I couldn't find it until some person on YouTube pointed out that it was in Yahoo! News.

And no- you shouldn't, since the general consensus here is that it's probably not going to be canceled.

Which I wholeheartedly embrace.

(And yes- I said YouTube. *gasps* XD)
Someone said something about it being on newspapers, so I used my new tactic on asking for a source... And they replied. I definitely thought they were going to ignore the question.

Oh! I'm not bothered by "news" of a possible cancellation, I'm bothered that other people won't let these useless rumors go.

I like your icons that accurately portrays what you're saying. XDD

Well, seems like it's not that YouTube/ANN/Spamific rumour that we thought it might be.

But it's okay, because in the end, it won't even matter.

haaa yes, with HK's cute face, who needs other icons!!

I just find these posts so irritating, especially when it has to link to putrid racist comments with little real facts of all things. I know nobody wants to be like that here (and basically no one is), but like-- can't we keep these discussions on f!s or wherever this is going down? I'm here to see some fanart and fic- not to discuss whether or not the anime is in jeopardy. I just feel like if these posts keep coming, we're gonna be overrun with "I HEARD HOLLAND IS PROTESTING TOO!! WHETHER OR NOT THESE CLAIMS ARE VALID LET'S POST ABOUT IT IN THE COMMUNITY!!"

but you're right~ :-j as long as people here are being respectful (and I could probably be a little nicer about it too...) I got no real area for fussiness.

I don't know. The fans do have a right to be concerned if the anime is going to be tampered in some way, which makes it relevant. It's a world wide of difference between the Netherlands protesting and Korea protesting though.

And the last place it needs to be is in F!S really.

Sorry to be ignorant, but what is F!S? D:

Actually, the links in the ANN article are more complete that the two links listed above. The second link above is the edited version of the newspaper article that is missing the statement from the Hetalia anime's television station. That's why people here erroneously thought that the station didn't make a statement about Korea's planned omission, when it did.
