[Event] Hungtington/NY- Hecksher Park Cosplay Meetup/Picnic!

August, Saturday 22nd, Huntington, NY at Hecksher Park. 1:00/1:30ish - Whenever ~ OH YEAH, I'VE CHANGED THE DATE ALREADYYY.
Someone has to be able to come....D;?



IF IT'S A LITTLE CLOUDY TODAY, DON'T BE AFRAID TO COME :3
We'll be gathering near the playground and then finding a nice spot to sit. See ya there everyone! :D


So, I have updates on this, I'd really like to go forward with this whole picnic/gathering thingy in Hecksher Park possibly next week on Saturday (The 22nd) I'm assuming it would be from likeee, 1:30 to whenever we feel like going home (It would rock if you guys would go to see Ponyo or any movie later on in the day, the movie theater is not far away at all)
This is not a 100% sure plan, if no one can go on that date then we'll obviously have to reschedule. Rain is also always a possibilty, fod damn the weather...
Anywho ~ I'd most likely bake something like brownies/cookies/cake, whatever.
I'd be in cosplay, either England or Austria, whatever the day feels like. :D
The park is really nice, there's a gazebo and a playground in which we could invade, but we'd probably scare the children. There's also like a lake thing, so there's some awesome photo opportunities.

I'd say bring lunch, or eat before you come because some brownies I make aren't going to substitute your lunch, unless if you guys would want to walk into town to eat or something, I'm kind of moneyless but I'm up for anything.
I posted before seeing if anyone lived nearby and got a few responses, so there's hope! 

What to bring:
Yourself. 8D (In cosplay or not, it doesn't matter :D But cosplay is always moar fun, no?)
Towel/Blanket.
Possibly any baked goods/Food of some sort or any drinks/cups/napkins/plates would be awesome, but you don't have to of course :)
A camera of some sorts if you'd like.
Some money in case you want to head over to the movies later in the day. (Tickets are like 10$ in case you didn't know, I KNOW IT'S A RIP OFF, I get angry each time I purchase a movie ticket, OTL.)

I'm not sure what's a good meeting spot, if anyone who's been there besides me know a good meetup spot before we go set up so we all know where to find eachother, please tell me. I hope people can make it, if not we can move the date or whatever. ~

No, you weren't the only one who thought it was a little failish. :::raises hand::: It seemed less of a gathering and more of a "several groups who happen to be in the same spot at the same time" sort of thing. If we had interacted more... D:

If it's that Saturday, I could probably make it. I can't say for certain -- y'know how life gets in the way sometimes -- but chances are looking about 85% now. :D And no, you're not stupid for asking for a weekday because, one, the beaches are less crowded during the week. Two, I'm gonna go on a limb and say most people in the fandom are on summer vacation and not working, so it's okay to do a weekday. D: I don't like being an adult. But yeah, I can probably make that day! ^_^

I have work on weekdays, but it's part-time (I get off at 1:15). I might be able to leave early though. If I can't, I can still be there around 2-ish...

I'll see if I can drag my friends along. I won't be in cosplay though. :T

If the date needs to be changed, I'm pretty much open every day after work unless something comes up and my shift changes or I have to stay late or whatever.

You may wanna change the date, Wingg just told me that there's a Hetalia meet that day. The school uniform one that only certain people are allowed to go to in cosplay...so most NYC cosplayers will be there on the 22nd .-_-.

I can't do this weekend...and I honestly don't know when you should change the date to...I've asked the city APH fans if they'd like to come out here to a picnic, maybe they'll gimme a date.

Well only certain people who signed up to cosplay as the characters for the photoshoot. They aren't accepting doubles, but random cosplayers and people who wanna take pics can go. They just can't be in the pictures.
