This totally isn't my first posting to a community, no way.

For this i positively agree with you. As much as how i am happy that Hetalia will be subbed in the future by the said community of Aarin, i feel that having a yaoi community subbing it will most likely attract fangirls and such in the future and we know what kind of effect it has on a fandom. I'd love it if there are more Hetalia fans that enjoy the fandom, for its educational and historical teaching purposes, but i would hate it for the fandom to become popular just because of the BL/Yaoi. I mean, I'm getting a little bit overwhelmed lately by a some fandoms that just serves too many of that lately, although i do enjoy it sometimes but there was just too much of it that my fondness of the fandom started to fade away.

And yes, i do enjoy slash, especially in Hetalia. But i picked up the fandom mostly because of its historical values and how it was told in a comical way that i seem to rarely see in a fandom these days (To my opinion x3;). The slash that i then enjoy in Hetalia is more of a bonus, really. And anyway, the relationship of two characters in Hetalia are usually based off from how they relate in the real world isn't it? In that case, i guess it is inevitable since Hetalia, in my honest opinion, has a potential of becoming a slash fandom in that viewpoint. But though, i just hope the wave of fangirl doesn't get to wide or else then it could be kind of dangerous, to the fandom and also the fans.

Word.

That's pretty much my niggle with all of this.

And THIS... this is spot on.
Like, sure, I sit and I grin and think lol manporn :D, I'm not going to pretend that I don't, but in Hetalia I honestly wouldn't give a damn if England was a woman, or if Poland was a woman, it wouldn't make me stop loving Lithuania/ Poland. Because of their status as a nation, I've found that mentally for me the characters are actually pretty androgynous, if that makes sense. I honestly don't care if so and so is with a woman, or if someone in a slash pairing that I like gets with a woman in a fic or in art as long as it makes some sort of justifiable sense.

I realise that I've talked in circles here but... yeah.

Yeah, well i still hope that it has a bit of slash in it since i don't want all of it gone. I mean the slash is probably more or less-- 35% that makes up Hetalia to what it is now? 8D *shot*

Ohoho~ That's my whole point anyway. It doesn't matter if the countries are in what gender because even how many times you try to change it and all, their relationship will still be the same. So like i said, inevitable slash. OMG 8QQ

Don't worry about it, since i think i talked in circles too. Maybe >3
