[FANCOMIC] Greece’s Marble Fragments

Hey everyone! I have a comic I made based on a news article I read last Thursday. When I read this in the newspaper, I just HAVE to make it a comic. Damn this fandom for making me unable to read international news with a straight face anymore! XDD This is probably quite OOC, and bad scanner killed the quality a bit, but anyway. Enjoy! ;D

Summary: Marble fragments from the temples in Athens were taken by other countries, and Greece do NOT appreciate that.

 

 

On February 16, 1943 -- in the midst of the three-year occupation of Greece by the Axis powers, led by Germany -- an Austrian soldier removed a marble fragment, measuring 7-by-30 cm (2.8 by 12 inches), from the Parthenon temple in Athens.

Tuesday, 02 Dec 2008, Greece welcomed back the marble fragment, which was passed from the soldier to his relatives, until the granddaughter decided to return the marble to Greece.
 

(Now that I’ve researched a bit more on the internet, it turned out that England and Italy also has Parthenon marble pieces. Oh well, let’s just say they -conveniently- missed the conference XD; )

 

The Parthenon Marbles, also known as the Elgin Marbles, were bought by the British Museum in 1816 and are exhibited as a prized part of its collection in London. The British Museum repeatedly has rejected Greek calls for the return of the 2,500-year-old frieze on the ground that its statutes would not allow it to do so.

This is awesome and i love how you portray each of the characters, especially how Greece is being bullied like that ROFL. And your drawing style is also cute and Hetalia-ish, good work! 8D OH MY, CAT RAMPAGE LMAO

Me and my friends start reading it for the international news nowadays 8D; And it was in a small article in the miscellaneous (I guess?) news part. It's usually where the interesting bits are XD (Although I think something like this deserves a bigger article... damn Kompas! XDD) and thank you ^^
