[Mod Post] The Future of the Community & Tags

Hello members!

I've received a couple messages lately regarding the community. I understand that some discussion is going on at the LJ hetalia community regarding a possible move to DreamWidth and merging the two communities, and I've received a kind request from a maintainer there that the LJ mods get involved in this community for that purpose. This is something I would like to discuss with our memberbase here before making such a big decision.

While I still read Hetalia fic and doujinshi, and I'm available to sort out any bad behavior that's reported (which has never happened, so I trust you're all being wonderful!), I admit that I haven't kept up with recent events in canon or fandom. Every community deserves a more attentive touch. Having the LJ maintainers get involved here seems like a good way to provide that. And if they were to get involved, then I would essentially be passing the community over to them.

So this is an open discussion post in regards to facilitating a move here and in having the LJ maintainers become maintainers here. If you have any feelings or input, please leave a comment on this post or PM me. I will appreciate your opinions. For PMs, I will respect your anonymity. I look forward to hearing from you!

I'm all for a move personally and probably have said so ad nauseam haha. I feel like if we merged the two communities together, we'd definitely see a more active fandom community all around. It's been quiet both on LJ and DW so I think considering the majority of hetalia rpers and their muns are situated on DW anyway, it's just the wisest move. I do think it'd be fine if you personally chose to continue modding here too if you felt like it since you've already invested so much time and effort here!

Yes please! Honestly livejournal has become a pain to access, which is why I don't visit there anymore, but it'd be great to have the comm here. 'sides dw is much more accesible!

I also think it's a good idea! Especially considering that the lj community is also currently wondering how to increase the activity.

About the tags, we could probably use tags for: Romania, Moldova, Monaco, Luxembourg, Portugal, sort of genre tag for nyotalia maybe? And a tag for oc nations, too (so it'd be possible to tag a fic about Czech Republic, for example). This is all I can think of at the moment.

Sounds good to me. LJ can be really finicky and DW seems more stable. It might be good to have a backup for this.

Re: tags, in addition to the ones already mentioned, we're missing nation tags for Cameroon, New Zealand, Macau, Persia, Thailand. Also the micronations (Ladonia, Seborga, Molossia, Hutt River, Wy)
