Questions

Hi! First time poster and I have only been around for a week so if this isn't allowed, I'm sorry mods and of course you can delete it ^_^

What I came to ask. I'd like to write one of the historical requested fic but when I tried to start I found out I have no idea about what Spain's personality is. I can't read Japanese so the only things I have gotten from the profile and the scanlated strips is that he's really laid-back and easy going and that both Italy are his younger brothers.
Do we know anything else about him in canon? Also is France really his older brother? Or at least his brother? It'd make sense seeing and all of them were once the Roman Empire^^.

Another question a bit more general. Do Nations have to always follow their bosses' orders? I know they do most of the time even if most of the people in the country don't like said decisions, but what happens in a revolution where the people kick the boss out? what would a Nation do? Stay aside? Defend the boss?
Any ideas?
The only strip I have read that could be similar to my questions is Russia's Bloody Sunday but we all know Ivan isn't exactly the most stable and sane nation so I'm not sure I can base anything on his reaction.

Any help would be really appreciated! :)

1. His personality is...well, I don't know anything else except that he speaks in very easy-going 'street' speech pattern. (It's actually an accent, but accent = personality stereotype anyway so.) He can be very glib about the most outrageous thing, positive or negative, due to that quirk. I think he's generally considered to be around the same age as France, but I could be wrong?

2. Not really. See also Japan in the English-Japan alliance strips. His boss was against it, but Japan went for it anyway. However, I'm not sure how this translates into actual history as I haven't looked it up. For revolutions....Blood Sunday 1905 is really the only strip we have approaching that, IIRC. Maybe we'll know one day if the comic ever completes the timeline and go into the French Revolution.

One of the many things that people don't notice about Spain, he's a closet pedo. A lot of people ignore that.
Also, yes, he is laid back--sometimes to the point of being lazy--but he sometimes gets busy when needed or scolded.
And a thing to know about APH is that almost everyone calls everyone else their sibling. Italy calls anyone older/more powerful than him 'nii-chan', e.i., France, Spain, England, etc. Like with US and UK, their not related in anyway, their just like siblings because England took care of America. Or with Belarus and Russia, Belarus is not really related to Russia although she calls him 'nii-san'.
The only real siblings in APH are the Vargas Twins (Lovino (S. Italy) and Feliciano (N. Italy)), and Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

Common image of Spain in Japan was easy-going positive nice guy, speaking with kansai accents (Himaruya express spanish with kansai accents) and was called "Oyabun" means "boss", because he and Lovino are look alike boss and his follower in Mafia.
And he is insensitive about love...sometime France seducted him, but he didn't notice it all. Once he cousulted about why little Lovino was crooked and didn't become attached to him, France said "Because you are too insensitive".
He really dote upon Italy brothers like father or brother.
Once he proposed to chibitalia though he already married with Austria (they are best friends and both was in Hapsburg).
Spain = Antonio Fernandes Carriedo is 25, BTW France is 26 , England is 23 and Greece is 27.

Real siblings in APH is Valgas brothers (they are NOT twins. Lovino is 22~23 and Feliciano is 20.), Swiss and Liechtenstein, and Ukraine+Russia+Belarus.

About boss-order thing, it depends on real hystorical situation.

I know the following comment is [livejournal.com profile] nationslash-material, but what above said kinda would explain why I picture any Latin-american country with some kind of kansai accent (from the softest Kyoto one to the thickest Osaka one)

And why the territorial conflicts between Venezuela & Colombia would look like a Boke and Tsukkomi routine...
