Origin of the name "Bad Touch Trio"
Does anybody know how the name “Bad Touch Trio” came to be used for France, Spain and Prussia? (It’s “Bad Friends Trio” in Japanese; akuyuu (悪友) translates to “bad friends,” not “bad touch,” so it’s not a translation of the Japanese name.) Was it mixing up “Bad Friends Trio” with the title of the Bloodhound Gang song “Bad Touch,” a corruption of “Bad Friends Trio” with the insinuation that the three of them are perverts/molesters, was the actual term for “bad touch” used to describe the trio in Japanese somewhere (and if so, where?), or was it something completely different?

Which would fit, because France is a minor pervert, Spain gets scary when drunk, and Prussia... well, he's Prussia. ;)

I also think not many people would be aware of the Japanese nicknames for it. Sometimes we have to rename it to understand better. It can be said for pairings or groups. For example, the Japanese nickname for France/America/Canada/England aka the FACE family is called the New continent family(新大陸家族).

I think it's also gotten to a point where people are like "wait. You mean it's Bad friends trio and not bad touch trio??" simply because people use the latter so often that they haven't heard it any other way

Yeah, "Bad Touch" just has that air of fandom silliness gone too far.
