Plus she's kind of speaking in the third person, isn't she? Which is a pretty common speech quirk as far as Japanese goes, but yeah it's mostly the island nation being super excited about the ocean that's throwing me and a friend off of it being Madagascar. It's probably a continental one without a coastline?

As much as I would love her to be Madagascar, I doubt the new girl is, well, Madagascar. Seychelles does mention Madagascar, but she says that she talks to Madagascar about animals in the Africa conference, and then the girl says that "What that seems fun", so... unfortunately she probably isn't. :(

New strip is great though, I hope we get to meet her again soon!

There are also people guessing it's Indonesia from the looks of Hima's Indonesian friend he sketched years back, but other sources say that the text provided state that the girl had to stop over in Europe before going to Seychelles, which doesnt make geographical sense if Indonesia were to visit Seychelles, unless Indonesia had to strictly only fly to Europe first or partake in a meeting of sorts over there.

I also researched the available flights to Seychelles's international airport, only 2 European carriers operate SEZ to their main hubs (Air Austral from France and Condor from Germany (seasonal flights only)), and Air Seychelles flies to Ethiopia, South Africa, Kenya, and Hong Kong. If Indonesia were to fly to Seychelles the nation can just stopover at the Arabian gulf with Emirates or Qatar Airways, or even stop at Singapore first to go to Johannesburg and then to Seychelles.

From that I guess the girl is a Latin American country as the only way possible to Africa from South America is via Europe, though the girl (to me) doesnt look like someone from there. Alternatively the girl is from Northwest Africa where despite having a coastline, coconuts don't grow there and the beach isnt filled with enough vegetation. It is close to Europe and would make sense to take a stopover flight to there to get to Seychelles.

The katakana and hiragana in the comic has language characters that spell "Indo", which is India in Japanese. But it could also be describing the Indian Ocean where the island of Seychelles is situated.

This is why we need a quick translation of a few panels explaining who this girl is.

Though I remember Hima saying he went to Africa a while back, so I reckon it's an African country too. But I'm totally lost.

The design really looks like Indonesia and seeing the katakana "Indo" (although followed by kanji) makes me wondering if she's Indonesia. But yeah, Indonesia doesn't have to stop at Europe if she's going to Seychelles. And seeing her excitement over beaches, I guess she's from Northwest Africa too. Then I'm wondering what design Hima would use for Indonesia later orz.
