Question: Hetalia merchandise available in Hong Kong?

In a few days I will be traveling to Hong Kong to work on a photography exhibition assignment. While I work there I am hoping to shop for some Hetalia merchandise, official or not, in Hong Kong street markets. If there are any, it's going to be my first Hetalia merchandise purchased for my own possession. I'm trying my best to search for any outlets in Hong Kong containing the merchandise, but the end result leads me to APH Hong Kong merchandise. LOL

I am looking for any merchandise by the way. It doesn't matter if it is a plushie or just a small charm.

EDIT: I do not have any budget right now, so I am OK if any merchandise is sold in a public store or within a shopping mall.

Hey, there! First of all, let me welcome you to our awesome city.

To be completely honest, I rarely ever see Hetalia merchandise on the streets here. The only exception is about two years ago when I was wandering through a Lam Tin mall and discovered tiny keychains of Romano, Prussia and other characters in a gachopon machine. Unfortunately, they weren't working so I couldn't even try =_____= Another time, my friend gave me a small HRE charm that she also said she got from a gachopon, but when she brought me back to the area it had been replaced with other toys.

The only time I've seen Hetalia merchandise in abundance is during conventions, particularly Ani-Com and Games Hong Kong, our biggest one of the year. Ani-Com will always have one big booth for official merch (it's where I get most of mine) and of course, there are dozens of fanmade doujinshis, pins, etc. at fanbooths and smaller cons. The thing is that Ani-Com occurs in August, and I actually don't really know how to scout out other conventions >____<

HOWEVER, I do think I have the contact info for a publishing company that helps print some fanbooks and stuff. It's headquartered in Guangzhou, so if you'd like that info I'll go dig it up for you.

Hope this helps...?

OTL

I'm so sorry, but I poked around my bookshelves twice...and I think I lost their card. A fanbook had this address: http://siguredo.blogbus.com but I don't really think it's the same company and it doesn't seem to have updated since 2010 (which is when I bought it, lulz)

In all honesty, I'm not much of a merchandise collector and as a result have a rather bad memory for it, so I'm glad other people were also here to answer your question. Have fun in HK!

Hi there! :D
When I went to Hong Kong two years ago, I honestly did not expect any Hetalia merchandise, since it's not as popular there. That was until my friend there took me to Sino Centre (信和中心) in Mong Kok! If you look carefully through each store, you might find them! ^_^ I got my Finland one-coin figure (legit) there for about $8. :3

If you're not in HK for the annual Anime/Game con, then your best bet would be Sino Centre. However, I'd say Hetalia isn't as popular now so you'd have to look extra hard to spot them around.

I'd like to say something about the booths for the annual anime con though.. From my experience (been there several times already), while they looked "official", most of the time they're actually fake. So unless you've seen them listed on the official sites, they're all fake. It is especially easy to spot when you see several series having the same sort of merchandises (e.g. same design of bag only different printing).

I remember last time I went to anime con, I was looking forward to get Hetalia-related stuff. But were thoroughly put off and irritated by the amount of fakes I saw.

But since you're alright with those, it shouldn't be a problem :) If you're dead track on getting official stuff, then it is Sino Centre ;) Oh, and if you're lucky, the doujinshi shop might be back as well 8D

I would recommend Sino Centre too! It is harder to find merchandise in the stores there coz Hetalia isn't as popular as before, but there's still lots out there :)

(Be careful of the stores selling fake goods and the 18+ stores tho!)

edit: If you want to buy the Japanese manga/artbooks, look out for Japanese bookstores :) The one I frequent is in SOGO (Causeway Bay), but you can get the artbooks in Sino Centre with no difficulty!
