Hetalia School Name?

I thought it was called World Academy W but in the fansub I sw of TBW Episode two they said Dublin Academy?

So did they change the name or did the translator just make a mistake?
W sounds kinda like Dublin so...

The translator made a mistake. It's been W since the game(or, in the game, I think it was World Academy W or something, either way the W stands for World and it's W Academy.)

They misheard, was all. (Himaruya said a long time ago that it's based in New York, so why would they call it Dublin?)

It is a mistranslation. It was supposed to be W Academy aka World W Academy aka World Academy W. The school was based off in New York City or in Bryant Park, NY to be close.

Think of how we pronounce 'W'. Double U. The fansubber probably heard as Dublin when it was supposed to be the letter W.

Ha, I had been wondering if the lion in the beginning was a deliberate kind of tribute to lions at the entrance to the New York Public Library main branch building. Guess it was! Cool...

Since Himaruya used to study in New York for some time, it is not a surprised he would based the Gakuen universe around that area.

My friend's sister also compared images of New York and the setting Gakuen Hetalia was in and it was pretty close.

Oh wow, now I want to take another look and see for myself! More Hetalia, what a hardship :)

I pass by those freaking lions almost everyday and it was the first thing I thought of. Nice to know my mind's not just playing tricks on me (getting senile in my old age)! Thanks!
