Funimation's Winter Simulcast Announcement - Hetalia: The Beautiful World

Excited for Hetalia: The Beautiful World coming up next week? Good news, Funimation will have a Winter Simulcast of the series starting at the end of this month!

Here is a link to the news. Some countries may not be able to view this, just a heads up. Only available in North America.

From the news on Funimation reads here:

hetalia_bw_key

We've saved the best for last. Hetalia: The Beautiful World will
round out our winter simulcasts. That's right, the boys are back with
Season 5, and it looks like it's gonna get even more ridiculous.

synopsis:

The Allied guys and Axis boys are back in Hetalia: The Beautiful World!
It’s Season 5. As in high-five! And when we high-five, a tiny kitten
appears with a wee banjo! And he’s playing a song about a cupcake and
it’s freaking adorable! But then Prussia shows up and yells at the
kitten. But the kitten doesn’t get sad, because, dude… Claaaassic
Prussia.

Look for Hetalia: The Beautiful World to begin simulcasting at the end of January. Go to http://www.funimation.com/hetalia for more information.

Here's the official English subtitled trailer for Season 5!

Maybe by next week, exactly on January 25th, they will put up the first English Subtitled episode of Hetalia: The Beautiful World, but I'm probably too excited to think so much ahead.

Just wondering if the episodes will be posted on LJ when they come out? Both raw and subbed?

Because a lot of us don't live in the US or Canada, and can't access the Funimation videos.

[identity profile] rikkaidai-fuji.livejournal.com 2013-01-19 06:09 am (UTC)(link)
I usually post the RAW here, I hope I still can do that kind of job this season. The only problem is probably the sub. I don't know if our previous subber will work on it.

I probably can't get that English subtitle since I'm not in America but..BUT, we might not want to reupload funi's videos because.......that might cause some troubles

alas, everything that's downloadable are member locked

[identity profile] moondrop97.livejournal.com 2013-01-19 10:07 am (UTC)(link)
Well crap, it's not available in my country... So where can I watch it now?

[identity profile] hanhula.livejournal.com 2013-01-24 11:38 am (UTC)(link)
*coughs*
Proxies.

[identity profile] lildeadkitty.livejournal.com 2013-01-20 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Damn you FUNi! They always region block their stuff to North America. I can't view the subbed trailer! :( And I wont be able to watch the episodes here in England. Will the subbed videos be posted here?

[identity profile] lildeadkitty.livejournal.com 2013-01-21 07:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay!
Not long now! Wouldn't it be easier to download the episodes with FUNi's subbing than someone else fansubbing it? Nevermind, someone's already suggested that :p Plus Char the brand manager's a Hetalia fan, if she joins the LJ and sees it (I heard in a FUNi video that she follows the captalia LJ) then we'll be in trouble.

[identity profile] lildeadkitty.livejournal.com 2013-01-22 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
:( I have a question though, what's the worry over uploading FUNimation's videos but not with uploading character songs/drama cds and fansubbed episodes? It's still illegally uploading copyrighted works.

It's probably because of the file they save the video as is a lower quality. I'm not familiar with video file types but I guess it's like comparing the original high quality hetalia manga strip (from the manga/birz) with a low quality JPEG scan someone uploaded. I think it's more the file type the video's saved as than the program they recorded it with, unless they used a camera and recorded it from their tv screen.

The fansub of the Fantasia episode that is on youtube was good quality, so were some I saw a while ago for the extra episodes. And I thin the overly bright colours are partially DEEN's fault. Remember Italy's practically bright orange hair in the early episodes, England's highlighter yellow hair etc. Hopefully with The Beautiful world, because the colours aren't so bright in the first place, the fansub episodes will look better.

I'm so excited! I feel like the fandom's been long overdue for something exciting you know? 2012 was such a weird year for me since there was no anime, no events, little word from Hima-papa's blog and the practically the only thing we had were the monthly comics.

[identity profile] robingurl.livejournal.com 2013-01-23 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
OHHHHH YEAH!! So does this mean my boys will be back in English for season 5 in the future!?!? *tail wags hopefully*

Not exactly a relavant comment plus this post is a week old so I doubt this will be read, but am I the only one who thinks that the dub voices will be weird with the new animation? Maybe it's just cause I'm still trying to get used to the style...I do hope there is some kind of inside joke in the dub on how something about them has changed

[identity profile] rebecca321.livejournal.com 2013-02-01 05:13 pm (UTC)(link)
"This is worse than are actual animation!" :D

[identity profile] rebecca321.livejournal.com 2013-02-01 05:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I kind of agree...the new animation is so serious looking compared to the old stuff, (and also a little 2-D,) and I'm afraid the silliness whimsy of the voices wont quite fit. Even in the japanese version, it feels weird. :/
I'm still glad about the new style though. :)

[identity profile] rebecca321.livejournal.com 2013-02-04 02:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Which crew?

[identity profile] heta-eku08.livejournal.com 2013-01-25 12:33 pm (UTC)(link)
yay! can't wait for the english subs :D

[identity profile] rebecca321.livejournal.com 2013-01-25 01:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Funimations intense immaturity makes me angry....do they honestly think they're being funny? This silly "randomness" doesn't make them clever. :/
I really hope they don't dub it.
Or at least they don't ruin it like what they did with Paint it, White! and World Series. :/

But I am excited about the subbed version. :)
I just wish it could be dubbed by somebody other than Funimation in a more...professional way. I know Hetalia's a comedy, but that doesn't really give them the rights to make the series into one big fangirl-driven JOKE. They've ruined enough serious moments already with their incessant need to put in their own silly gags.
Poor Himaruya. u_u" I wonder if he knows what's happening in America.

[identity profile] rebecca321.livejournal.com 2013-01-27 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
I don't wish to redub it, I wish They'd redub it...it is their job to do that, and I just wish they'd take it more seriously.
I did really enjoy Axis Powers in English, but it seems as though, as soon as the movie came, they got too comfortable with the series and started ad-libbing or adding their own little opinions and ships in when they got the chance...even in the serious moments...I guess that's what makes me mad. And yes, they do make it "they're own special way"...but that's not quite a good thing! They shouldn't be allowed to use Hetalia as an opportunity to make their opinions "canon" (Or at least seen as conon to those who don't watch the original or read the comic). The audience will enjoy Hetalia, yes, but it's difficult to enjoy when you aren't a big fan of the shipping and vulgarity that the introduce that isn't present in the original. :(
Again, I know Hetalia is a comedy, "silly and random", but it (including the script) is still the hard work and dedication of an author and director and should be treated as such...not Funimation's plaything. Sometimes it feels as though their dub IS part of an abridged series. :(

Sorry about that. -_-" I get really riled up with Funimation. I'm just kinda sad about the bad reputation Hetalia has...and I guess I'm blaming it on Funi. They don't have much respect for the series, judging by the commentary and ad-libs.

[identity profile] rebecca321.livejournal.com 2013-02-01 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, yes, they aren't evil. No, the japanese version is not abridged. Most anime that are comedies have 5-minute episodes (I think it works fairly well, since Hetalia has no real organized storyline), and also, what happens/is said in the Japanese anime is the same as what happens/is said in the manga. Funimation does cross the line from time to time, you must admit. If you watch the english version with the subtitles of the japanese version, they're rather different more often than not...it's as if they don't think the original jokes are funny enough so they add their own (and usually vulgar) spin to them?
I'd like to support the series and the author, but I don't so much want to support people who are responsible for changing the series into a 2-dimensional joke. :/

But yeah, it's nice to have a dub so we don't have to read subtitles, and hearing all the accents are nice, too, but I just wish they stayed a little more true to the author's intentions and wishes.
But I have a question...what did you mean when you said Funimation "do call out the bad fans"? :o

[identity profile] rebecca321.livejournal.com 2013-02-04 02:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Again, yes, there is some vulgarity in the series, but there are also serious moments....these are the ones that aren't respected by Funi.
Plus, the voice actor for France has mentionned such things in the dub.

[identity profile] may-chan.livejournal.com 2013-01-26 06:23 am (UTC)(link)
The first episode appears to already been subbed and its on Funimation's youtube. If you google it, you will find plenty alternatives streams of it! They subbed it pretty fast so we might really need a fansubber as much?

[identity profile] may-chan.livejournal.com 2013-01-26 05:27 pm (UTC)(link)
They weren't uploaded to youtube or mediafire. They were on anime online streaming sites like this one (link (http://www.animefave.net/hetalia-the-beautiful-world-episode-1/)) and its Funimation's sub uploaded on other video hosting services. There's tons of them I'm sure anyone in the world can watch it.

Do you know where I can download the RAW for BW? If you google "hetalia beautiful world raw download" this is the first choice that appears. Sadly, I see no RAWs here. Am I missing something?
