Funimation's Winter Simulcast Announcement - Hetalia: The Beautiful World
Excited for Hetalia: The Beautiful World coming up next week? Good news, Funimation will have a Winter Simulcast of the series starting at the end of this month!
Here is a link to the news. Some countries may not be able to view this, just a heads up. Only available in North America.
From the news on Funimation reads here:
We've saved the best for last. Hetalia: The Beautiful World will
round out our winter simulcasts. That's right, the boys are back with
Season 5, and it looks like it's gonna get even more ridiculous.
synopsis:
The Allied guys and Axis boys are back in Hetalia: The Beautiful World!
It’s Season 5. As in high-five! And when we high-five, a tiny kitten
appears with a wee banjo! And he’s playing a song about a cupcake and
it’s freaking adorable! But then Prussia shows up and yells at the
kitten. But the kitten doesn’t get sad, because, dude… Claaaassic
Prussia.
Look for Hetalia: The Beautiful World to begin simulcasting at the end of January. Go to http://www.funimation.com/hetalia for more information.
Here's the official English subtitled trailer for Season 5!
Maybe by next week, exactly on January 25th, they will put up the first English Subtitled episode of Hetalia: The Beautiful World, but I'm probably too excited to think so much ahead.

Happy Bday, Prussia! ;p

Happy Birthday, Prussia!
Even if you yell at a adorable kitten who appears to sing a song about a cupcake with her little banjo whenever we high-five, she doesn't get sad and still loves you.

I feel like going eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Because a lot of us don't live in the US or Canada, and can't access the Funimation videos.

I'm wondering though if someone is able to get their hands on Funimation's English subtitled version of the first episode, would it be any different from a fanmade sub translation? Both may not have accurate translation and both have suffer on logos(Animate TV for the RAW and Funimation Logo for Funimation/YouTube).
Entries of the episodes with download links included will be member-locked too.

I probably can't get that English subtitle since I'm not in America but..BUT, we might not want to reupload funi's videos because.......that might cause some troubles
alas, everything that's downloadable are member locked

I hope soon that there might be a way to upload fansubs for people who can't watch it directly on Funimation's site/YouTube channel.

Not long now! Wouldn't it be easier to download the episodes with FUNi's subbing than someone else fansubbing it? Nevermind, someone's already suggested that :p Plus Char the brand manager's a Hetalia fan, if she joins the LJ and sees it (I heard in a FUNi video that she follows the captalia LJ) then we'll be in trouble.

The only thing I have to say the problem I have with fansubs at the time for Hetalia is that the quality is not good. Was it because whenever someone tries to record the episode using a certain program or device, it messes with the video? The colors are too bright for their own good.
no subject
It's probably because of the file they save the video as is a lower quality. I'm not familiar with video file types but I guess it's like comparing the original high quality hetalia manga strip (from the manga/birz) with a low quality JPEG scan someone uploaded. I think it's more the file type the video's saved as than the program they recorded it with, unless they used a camera and recorded it from their tv screen.
The fansub of the Fantasia episode that is on youtube was good quality, so were some I saw a while ago for the extra episodes. And I thin the overly bright colours are partially DEEN's fault. Remember Italy's practically bright orange hair in the early episodes, England's highlighter yellow hair etc. Hopefully with The Beautiful world, because the colours aren't so bright in the first place, the fansub episodes will look better.

I'm glad that all the wait has now been worth it.

plus this post is a week old so I doubt this will be read, but am I the only one who thinks that the dub voices will be weird with the new animation? Maybe it's just cause I'm still trying to get used to the style...I do hope there is some kind of inside joke in the dub on how something about them has changedno subject
They did break the fourth wall in the old animation in the English Dub, no doubt they will mention their new sudden appearance.no subject

I'm still glad about the new style though. :)

I really hope they don't dub it.
Or at least they don't ruin it like what they did with Paint it, White! and World Series. :/
But I am excited about the subbed version. :)
I just wish it could be dubbed
by somebody other than Funimationin a more...professional way. I know Hetalia's a comedy, but that doesn't really give them the rights to make the series into one bigfangirl-drivenJOKE. They've ruined enough serious moments already with their incessant need to put in their own silly gags.Poor Himaruya. u_u" I wonder if he knows what's happening in America.

Plus, the show is silly and random on its own. The fans included. Whether people prefer the webcomics, manga, anime of either Japanese or English Dub, just be happy it is the series you all know and love.
If you wish to redub it, go right ahead. The only way to even abridged this series if you use actual translations.

I did really enjoy Axis Powers in English, but it seems as though, as soon as the movie came, they got too comfortable with the series and started ad-libbing or adding their own little opinions and ships in when they got the chance...even in the serious moments...I guess that's what makes me mad. And yes, they do make it "they're own special way"...but that's not quite a good thing! They shouldn't be allowed to use Hetalia as an opportunity to make their opinions "canon" (Or at least seen as conon to those who don't watch the original or read the comic). The audience will enjoy Hetalia, yes, but it's difficult to enjoy when you aren't a big fan of the shipping and vulgarity that the introduce that isn't present in the original. :(
Again, I know Hetalia is a comedy, "silly and random", but it (including the script) is still the hard work and dedication of an author and director and should be treated as such...not Funimation's plaything. Sometimes it feels as though their dub IS part of an abridged series. :(
Sorry about that. -_-" I get really riled up with Funimation. I'm just kinda sad about the bad reputation Hetalia has...and I guess I'm blaming it on Funi. They don't have much respect for the series, judging by the commentary and ad-libs.

Also, better this dub than no dub at all that weeaboos who still watched Japanese Dub would scream "DOITSU". It's not even funny when fans first started saying that carp.
no subject
I'd like to support the series and the author, but I don't so much want to support people who are responsible for changing the series into a 2-dimensional joke. :/
But yeah, it's nice to have a dub so we don't have to read subtitles, and hearing all the accents are nice, too, but I just wish they stayed a little more true to the author's intentions and wishes.
But I have a question...what did you mean when you said Funimation "do call out the bad fans"? :o

When someone mentioned rape about France, the actors said "No-No" to them.
Plus I really doubt the author isn't too sugar-coated sweet when his title blog post is this (http://himaruya.blog61.fc2.com/blog-entry-1303.html) and made this song to worship a country of mochi (http://himaruya.blog61.fc2.com/blog-entry-1337.html).
All I can say about Hidekaz Himaruya is he is the King of the Trolls.

Plus, the voice actor for France has mentionned such things in the dub.
