I'm currently in love with this place and I haven't even been there.

D: That's really odd. If they don't accept reservations, is there a reason why they have an entire page about how to make reservations?

Also! Assuming the first photo's yours as well, would you be willing to upload it to our item guide? (this page (http://hetaliaitemguide.wikinet.org/wiki/Special:Upload)) So far I've been the only one working on the Animate Cafe page (http://hetaliaitemguide.wikinet.org/wiki/Animate_Cafe_Goods), so it would be really great to get some help from someone who's been there!

\o/ But anyway, did you make sure to stock up on extra can badges? I saw Spain's end at 4200 yen recently, Japan's worth a steady 1700, and England's at 2200 right now~ They're a seriously awesome investment.

It's actually not a page for reservations - I asked some Japanese speakers to transalte it for me. That page is just a general "here's how to contact Animate for more info if you have questions" page. They said they WOULD start operating on a reservation basis if it was very busy, and...yeah...Looks like that'll happen.

I know I should take advantage of living in Japan to buy and sell Hetalia stuff - I could make a shedload of money. But I just can't be bothered to figure out how to sell stuff, and then to have to keep buying packaging and weighing stuff for the post office, and figuring out shipping costs, etc.
I didn't realise the badges were going for so high - I can easily ship them!
Where are people selling them? I'm going to the cafe next week again (if I can get in!) so maybe I will stock up. They're only $2.....

They're super cheap, and anybody who can read Japanese and has a computer can find out they're super cheap, but then you go online and holy crap expensive.

Bidding sites, mostly. They're starting to reach Mbok, slowly, but it's YJ that's been flooded with the really crazy bid wars. u__u I had to fight all the way up to 1350, to get my Russia can badge. And now I'm at 1600 with an hour left to go, for his coaster... At this rate, I'm probably never getting the bromide.

Additionally, a picture of all the items purchased at the Cafe, shown together, would be really amazing. Since you were able to buy little accessory charms there (well, assuming this (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v47/Vailo/SobiKore/Rus-Accessory.png) is what you were describing?), and such, it shows they sell items that aren't event-exclusive. ;u; Knowing any of the non-exclusive items available there would help out a lot.

As for non-event-exclusive merchandise they had a fair bit. The gakuen uniform from Animate; some clear files and stationary; mochi plushies; gakuen plushies of the Axis; regular plushies of a few characters; that accessory charm (I just called it a keychain and I got Russia and China, it's on my other tumblr post); and some book which was about 4000 yen. (It had all the characters playing instruments on the front, but I don't know what was inside as it was sealed shut.)
There was not a huge supply of any of the non-event merchandise. For most of them it was just one item, and if it was sold, there's no more.

It's particularly weird because people who got badges/bromides/coasters they didn't like had taken them to K-Books round the corner, and they were selling for just a few hundred yen more there. So my friend bought a Russia pin at K-Booksfor about 400 yen, then got one in the cafe for 200. So OVER 4000?! Depending on where you are in japan, that's the same price as a trip to the cafe and back!! Why not just do that??

This one seller has like. at least 50 of these badges, since they've been relisting constantly even after shipping out.
They've AT LEAST made 9500 yen out of a single trip to the cafe, and there's STILL more of their can badge auctions going dsagdhfdhga

I'm curious, have you opened up the carton of cookies? If you have, how do they taste?

My friend opened hers and they were pretty lacklustre. They were kind of...I don't know, soggy? They just felt damp, which was weird because the box was totally dry. I'm going to open mine at some point and I'll see if they're any different.

I did not get to stay long because I'm not in Japan just for this, but it was fun. I ended up trading some America stuff ~~America is probably the most popular character in Japan from my experience~~ for Russia stuff and got most everything Russia/Prussia related so I'm happy. I have extras of some stuff, but I can't sell anything, sorry. I did get Spain my first go with the can badge, and he does seem to be the most wanted.

What were waiters and waitresses like? Who were they dressed as? Were they in character? Was there any Lithuania waiter?

One waiter was dressed int he gakuen outfit, but he wasn't a particular character. And another was Hungary. The day before there was a Prussia. But not all of them are dressed up - from what i saw it was 1/2 a day.

I'm dying here, i want so badly to go there TT~TT
