Looking at the raw pages, for some reason I'm wondering if Hong Kong's greeting is a sort of joke itself, 「おいーっす」 with 「チーズ」. It makes me think of how sometimes people jokingly respond like "What's up?" "Chicken butt."

It's very possible you're right, sadly my last contact with any slang or teenager Japanese was so long ago that I'm usually completely lost with these.
